Title: whwre did all the ducks go? not much flying in sno/skagit county
Post by: NW-GSP on November 20, 2014, 01:51:02 PM
I hunted all day yesterday and only shot once dropping a hen mallard, really just did not see very many birds flying. I went out today to see if it had changed and some hunters I talked to said it was the same today.

They have been flying non-stop all day.  They are still around in force, just getting spread out and using many of the fields now.  There were also huge rafts of them in Padilla, Samish Bay.  I would do some driving.  I picked my limit up in 45 minutes in a QH field today.

Lots of feed in the area which is holding the birds.  They seem to be thick in this area and in Snohomish, where they have a good selection of feed as well.

Carnation valley is going to have a lot of standing water. This pic is just across the river from where Happy Gilmore lives. Seen quite a few ducks and the game warden. Unfortunatly im working not hunting

how has everyone been liking these new reservation sites in snoho/skagit? I have only hunted them a few times and they seem to be mostly fields of corn, been adapting our decoy spreads to these conditions but it seems to pay to have the stand ups
