Title: Spokane area deer population and new snow???
Post by: TeacherMan on December 19, 2008, 10:24:17 AM
I'm heading down to Spokane today and I will be there the next two weeks (winter break!!!) and I was planning on getting out and getting some good pics of deer. Anyone seeing them? I know this much snow can be a bad thing for forage. What are your thoughts?

Can't be good. Especially if it freezes up. It will be real hard on them to get through the snow. :twocents:

They are in for some serious work staying fed.  Last winter the deer hammered the winter range pretty good and this year we should expect the same.  Luckily, up here there are not as many deer as last year.

Please be thoughful about spooking any deer when tyhe snow is this deep...it's a huge caloric expense for them to have to flee.
