I was drawn for the late quality quilomene archery hunt! I saw some good bucks before it opened on the 20th of November. Well the first day was a bust but we did find a good buck with only minutes of light left so I let him walk. I went back the next day to a nasty storm that moved in and dumped 3-4 inches of snow. the storm broke over night and the deer where up moving. I climbed to the top of the ridge and was working into the wind with my dad.he was just above me and he spotted a doe. So I carefully moved in knowing a buck could be there. As I'm working in her direction I spot his antler and know it is the one I saw in the evening of the first night. So I knock an arrow and slowly work toward him. He gets up to chase a spike buck off and Is walking away. I put a small pine between him and I. I got to the tree and looked around it and there he is, broadside looking at me. I ranged him at 52 yards. I practice to 65 all the time so I felt comfortable with the shot. I come to full draw settle the pin behind the shoulder and let it fly. My arrow disappears and he jumps, I watch as he slowly walks down the hill. Realizing that I hit just a hair behind where I was aiming I start to follow him. He goes 80 yards and beds down. My dad comes up to where I am and I told him what happened. We decide to give him some time. 30 minutes goes by and he still has his head up so I decided to sneak in and finish him. I got to 20 yards and hit him once more and it was over. I just got my first archery deer!! And got to hunt a unit I'd been waiting 13 years to hunt! He's 24 inches outside and a rough green score of 164" (https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ftapatalk.imageshack.com%2Fv2%2F14%2F11%2F23%2Fb747a46252a62c9e40ff9b904b2e24c2.jpg&hash=ffd83968ed3f759e2aca7a1556e3bdb9a1736dc6)]
