Dear All,
Heading out for late season archery in GMU 407 late Thursday night. I have been consistently scouting some great habitat, lots of deer sign, doe or buck don't matter I'm looking to arrow my 1st blacktail this season!
All input is greatly appreciated?

The rain will be good to keep it quiet. Just walk like a deer near and in the area with lots of good sign. Dunno about rut but likely over...

I think rut activity in this unit was the best during the late buck rifle season. Lots of bucks cruising my father in laws property every day. It's really slow now just a few does here and there now.
-
It looked like the rut was about a week early in 407 this year. The first cycle is definitely over. There will be some doe that were unbred that will come into cycle toward the second half of next month.
-
First week of December is typically when the second part of the rut hits. It's spotty at best and can be a flash in the pan and it's over.
Still not sure why this state has two BT rifle seasons in prime rut and archery season post rut. Hunting post rut BT bucks can be VERY difficult. They are cashing calories and not moving much if at all. You might try doing some drives if the location is good and you have hunting partners.

I live on the border of 407 in Snohomish county. I saw bucks chasing does about 2 weeks ago. Haven't seen much activity since.

I agree with the previous posts about the rut.The bucks I have seen have been alone.
I passed on a big bodied 2x2 this morning because I know the Big boy I have seen the last couple weeks is still around
waiting for me to introduce myself.Lots of deer activity on our Ranch property due to the Bird hunters on the otherside of the river.
Heard shots this morning and it was still dark HMMM?

Was out this morning for the Muzzle opener in 407 and didn't see a thing except 2 other hunters walking a road into the cut I glassed for 2 1/2 hours.
