Spent a couple of days in each unit, saw some really nice bucks just wasn't able to get within range. Had two trail cameras up and opted to go to one of the spots Saturday morning, when I went and checked my other trail camera there was stud of a buck on the camera that morning that would have walked within 15 yards of my make shift blind, talk about a heart breaker.
The amount of people in the units was unbelievable so I gotta believe somebody knocked something down.
Anybody hauled anything out of either of these units yet?
-
Not this year but I have in the past.....
-
Relatively slow this year and a quite a few other hunters in my spot!
How about that trailcam pic?
-
I'm not going to give up a particular spot but I was wondering, in the swakane there is certain roads that get real icy, can quads be used on those side roads? Thanks

Nope
I thought if they were street legal they could be used in the Swakane.
-
Some of the roads in Swakane even if they are not gated have signs that say no motor vehicles
-
:yeah:

Come on......V-bars on all 4 is a great way to spend the day :chuckle:

I was talking about roads that you can drive on normally, not any gated roads. I know some laws have changed with quads if they are street legal, which mine is not. I need to talk to clem in Enumclaw to see what it takes to make it street legal and where exactly it's legal to ride.

Buddy almost lost his truck off the side over the weekend. Roads were gnarly as usual.

I can imagine, I really don't see why quads couldn't be used on roads that are not gated when they are dangerous for cars or trucks. Idaho is much better about the use of quads, and if your caught in Idaho with a quad where your not supposed to have one, big trouble.

If your worried about the roads, vehicles and your safety, get out off your seat and hike, or just stay home.

:bash: I know you don't know how I hunt so I really won't say too much about your comment. I was just curious if it was legal.

Quads can now be street legal when outfitted with the proper gear....turn signals and lisence plate. They can even be driven Dow a paved road now in chelan county.

Sometime you have to drive a long way to get to where you can hike :dunno:

Take note everyone. Next time just park at the mouth of the canyon and walk all the way to where you want to go so you're not identified as a road hunter.

Forget about Swakane and Manson; apply for the Entiat Tag.
-

-
This was one of the 2014 buck in the Entiat GMU 247 permit required for the archery hunt. Many great bucks taken there in the past 5 years.

what an archery deer!! I left this thread but glad I came back to check it out. You have a story on that pig? Congrats.
-
It took way longer than I thought for this deer to show up on here. Got to see this one come down the canyon. Great deer and one excited and still in shock hunter :) Oh and that is the last nice buck in the entiat so go else where :chuckle:
-
Seth is from Spokane. He got the Entiat archery tag and contact Bruce Wick. Bruce & Charlie Buyas were the guides. Bruce owns Icicle Outfitters & Guides at Leavenworth but lives in the Entiat Valley (Entiat Packing Station).
Last decent buck in the Entiat is confirmed. Nice ones in Yakima and Okanogan counties.
-
Thats funny, Last big buck go elsewhere

Enjoy the vacation :party1:
