the blown up picture of a deer at no less then 400 hundred yards

                                                                                                         (https://hunting-washington.com/cpg/albums/userpics/11731/DSC_0310-Cropped.jpg)

same picture without blowing him up I knew because of how open it was getting to this guy wasnt going to be a easy stalk but decided what the heck i might as well get a closer look and I am glad I did he isnt a impressive deer by most standard but sneaking up on him bedded down in 2 to 3 foot sage with another buck and eight doe was a little bit of a achievement.

here he pokes his head into the wash I belly crawled up to get close. . .I think he was smelling ? the wind was blowing pretty stiff from right to left on a slant towards me

I dont know if they winded me or not but all the deer started moving through in front of me so I took some more pictures as they went through before I went home for some leftover turkey

I think the doe were more aware then the bucks were

More smelling maybe the doe

my leg was cramping and I had to move slightly He was instantly watching me but after a minute of stillness he continued feeding

after about fifteen minutes I finally moved again and the doe were onto me and they all moved off I think i need a quiter camera the doe were very aware of the shutter sound untill i moved though they couldnt place the noise

Wish i would have had my tripod with me I was dying holding the heavy lense up watching the deer

Love watching deer playing specially in the new snow. . . I think this buck was chasing off the lil spike because there was a hot doe below him these were right before dark and he was moving fast pictures didnt come out super clear

I have always been a rifle hunter just never knew any different but I have alot of respect for a bow hunter who has to get close to make that shot. It is a incredible feeling being right under a deer nose and its carrying on like your not around

Cool pic's. I like the one of the W/T buck chasing the muley doe's. I shot a W/T buck in Montana once that was with 7 muley does. I think they breed more than one would think.

You would probable be a good person to ask this, where would be a good location to go and find muledeer on there winter range for a good day of photos. Thanks

Hey there Wilson-

You obviously know your way around the "camera", and looks like you have some great glass on the front of it!  I am sure enjoying your photography.  j

Using a Nikon D50 with a 80-400 lens . . .I am not what I would call a really great photographer I sorta let the camera do the work . . .I am hoping to start using a tripod more and see if that helps my clarity as of these pictures they are all taken free standing ... in the cold i notice its hard to keep a steady pose with out shaking slightly

Had to add these pictures when I found them I thought I had lost them from a early hike up the methow

I thought this picture was pretty sweet caught him in motion while he was racing full speed back and forth across the creek bottom he was just playing around he knew I was there but it wasnt bothering him
(https://hunting-washington.com/cpg/albums/userpics/11731/DSC_0413edited.jpg)

The 3x on the right had pretty decent mass I though but I am just a begginer a rookie
(https://hunting-washington.com/cpg/albums/userpics/11731/DSC_0459edited.jpg)

here is another pic on him I never got him ears fully spread in pictures so this is the best one he was pretty interested in that doe
and I never got all that close on him
