Title: Pocket Pistols-Bond Arms

Chase the lint from the bores bi-weekly. I already load for a 45 Colt (270 Kieth @ 1105fps from a 5.5") maybe my loads would be too hot for this frame?
Thinking further...... I dont ever want to be questioned in court about my reloads so maybe the 44spl would be the better choice since it wont be shot that much?

Buzz, do you shoot yours much and what is the bbl length?

Post by: GoldenOscar on November 29, 2014, 07:00:43 PM: Had one for a little while 45/.410 thought it might be fun for grouse/carry rig........with birdshot the short barrel was useless you couldn't hit a can at 15 yards and the .45 long colt wasn't very pleasant to shoot......I rather have a few extra rounds for a carry gun and they make lots lighter and nicer to shoot rigs out there.... :twocents:

I took it out and patterened it with 45acp. Hornady Gritical Defense, 410 Rifled Slug, 410 Buckshot, 410 PDX and 410 #6 shot at twenty-one feet.
In my Cowboy Defender it had the best pattern with the 410 Buckshot and still has two rounds setting in the barrels. Abot all it's good for is a close up self-protection handgun. I'll probably just keep it and occasionally carry it every once in a while. A friend bought the Texas Ranger model in 45LC/410 and loves it, he have several handgunsand prefers to carry his Bond. He bought the 38spl/357mag barrels, the 9mm barrels and the 22lr barrels for it.

Bond carry a full line of extra barrels in a huge variety of calibers, all of the barrels are interchangable with all of the different styles of recievers. They are the best built Derringers out there at a very affordable price plus the option of almost any caliber barrel you might want for your gun.

For a truck or car gun they are GREAT, or to throw in your pocket to run down to McDonalds or the corner store.

I checked these out years ago, thought about one in 45/410. then I held on in my hand...Wow that sucker is heavy, at least if you run out of ammo you could hit the guy with it! I decided not to buy on these factors.

a) Bloody heavy for what it is, 2 shots
b) expensive for what it is
c) single action only
d) there are just better carry options (S&W J frame)

maybe fun for novelty sake but not suitable for CCW IMO
