Great Buck. Way to stick with a tough bloodtrail. Your success doesn't go unrecognized, and IMO you have an excellent outlook of the way a hunt should be. Congrats
-
Sundance congrats on the buck! You are a blacktail guru, I always look forward to reading your posts. I always respect the hunt more than the kill but know the roller coaster of emotions that accompanies the pursuit of mature animals. I thank you for sharing and you have my respect.

Great post. Love it.

What a great read! The words must just pour out of you like water from a firehose. Once turned on, get out of the way! Perhaps you should author a book......
Sounds like a great season to me - one that you will likely never forget, and one that I could only imagine through the detailed descriptions and personal feelings provided by you. I felt like I was right there with you, feeling your concerns and sufferings.
Congrats on your personal lessons learned. (great buck too!)

Good post Sundance. Nice Roman nose on him.
-
Nothing wrong with that buck, especially for a stick and string.
-
Good times.. nothing wrong with a frontal shot btw...
-
Great story and happy to know you found him.

Sweeeeet ...

Nice story and pictures. Would be nice to see a smile on your face though to culminate your efforts and the end of a season.

Beautifully written. I also have gotten complacent in hunts that I figured I had "wired", only to be frustrated by an "easy" doe hunt. Deer have a way of restoring our humility by surprising us with their elusiveness and adaptability. I suppose that's why we still have them around to hunt- they are the furthest thing from a dodo bird, that's for sure.
Have you considered a career as an outdoors writer?

Well done ....Kind of reminds me of my elk hunt this year..Takes a couple good knock downs to put you in your place and help you remember what the hunt is really about.
-
Very nice write up and a respectable buck. The facial expressions in your pictures do a good job of summing up your feelings about the hunt (and your future hunts).
-
Well done just the same truly memorable
-
Well done. Good story and good buck!
