Since this buck is already being passed around on social media and I have cam pictures of him, I'm posting.
Sad part, I had this buck 5 yards from me on opening morning. Within 5 yards of a buck of a lifetime! I started moving my bow into position to shoot him and he either winded me, or saw my bow move inside my blind. I wasn't moving fast so at this point, it doesn't matter. All I saw was that huge rack! :yike: He blew at me and ran off....
I do not know the successful hunter. :hello: I do know an acquaintance. It was shoot with a muzzleloader. I was hunting with a bow. So if he isn't the top non typical if all, he has to be of one of those weapons. Congrats to the hunter! Buck of a Lifetime!

Muley rack on a whitey. :yike:
His mama was messing with the wide rack guys. :chuckle:

where/when?

Wow. That guys got be in your dreams nightly. What a stud; and you almost had him.
-
where/when?
Shot on Wednesday, West Plains of Eastern Washington.
-
What a buck! That is some crazy character!
-
Good God man, what a deer! Congrats to the hunter, thanks for posting.
-
That is amazing! Sorry he isn't yours!
-
I'm not going to lie, I'm bummed, but also glad to have had the opportunity. I will never forget that moment!
-
I can't even count how many main beams that buck has. That's incredible
-
I will post my cam photos in a bit.
-
Bar, you have the trail cam pics and a story to tell around the fire.
You'll get a shot again at another.

Given the two main beams off both sides I would say she was involved in a ménage or a group with multiple species. :chuckle:
Or her head was stuck in a fence.
-
Excited to see him on the hoof
-
I will post my cam photos in a bit.
and then log off!!!!! making friends your not!
-
That thing is crazy looking.
-
Probably a good choice to let him walk. His G-17's are a little weak.

He shy! :chuckle: That buck is bad a$$!

Wow! Looks like he killed another buck, took that other buck's antlers, and added them to his own :chuckle:

:yeah: You got many deer like that on cam, that you cannot shoot you will likely always have lots of friends....Just like Bone :chuckle: :chuckle:
All kidding done what a great FREAK of a buck. Thanks for sharing all the pictures. Just amazing.
-
Too bad you didn't kill him BAR C3, but thanks for sharing the story, and trailcam pics. Awesome buck!! I had no idea he was in the neighborhood.

Neither did I! Wonder where he has been hiding!!!! :dunno:
-
Amazing buck.
-
WOW!
-
Wow that is super cool.
-
Really cool looking buck. This has been a great year for whitetails.
-
:yike: ya gota score big.
-
Missing out on that one has to leave a sinking feeling! One hell of a buck.
-
Very cool looking deer and thanks for posting He appears to have 4 seperate mainbeams. I can see where the H-1 measrement will be taken but would be curious to know where the other three mass measurements come from? How about the inside spread credit measurement? Very unique...

Yep. I about get a gut ache thinking about it myself.
-
Very very cool looking buck! That would be quite the experience to have been within 5 yds of him ............... but man the heartache of watching him run off had to be brutal. :sry: Thanks for posting the pics.
-
Anyone on here an official scorer? I would be interested to know how they score it.
-
not close on a record, but a nice buck...226" with a bow
-
I agree, not close to any record or anything, but, what a buck! Truly unique. I'd say for score, they'd measure that inside rack ( two pt. with eyeguards) for the frame and everything else would be junk.
-
I've seen a few double beamed whiteys, but never anything like him. I would have loved to see him in a year or two.
-
Not sure about deer, but with moose, double paddles are often caused by a genetic defect which causes the old antlers to break off deeper into the pedicle than normal causing subsequent antlers to grow funny. It's very common in moose of the Copper River Delta in Alaska which has a herd that originated from a small transplanting from the Kenai Peninsula. It is suspected that because of the small number of moose in the original transplant, one or more had the gene that causes this and the lack of genetic diversity spread the gene throughout the herd as the herd grew.

Wow Awesome buck
-
Wow doesn't cover it but that is all I can come up with. Wow.
-
Very Nice! Unique.
-

So the archery non typical is 226? I guess I'm out of touch with the records. :dunno: :dunno:
I would be surprised if this buck doesn't go 200.... Width will kill it but lots of tine length.
-
The book I have, Record Book for Washington Big Game Animals Third Addition, has the rifle non typical whitetail 236 5/8, Archery 224 3/8, Muzzy 180 7/8.
-
And that's net score.. Not gross.. That buck won't net well for record book sake
-
Trophy regardless of record books in my opinion. My mom would have held the record for typical white muzzy for many of years if it were to ever been entered. No desire here. :twocents:
-

I would be interested to see a few different score sheets on this one. I would be interested to see if there is an argument to be made using the outside vs inside rack or vice versa as the typical portion vs the non-typical portion. Very difficult at my first glance to score this one consistently from one scorer to the next.
-
I don't think the record book would be too friendly to him. However that is the coolest dang rack.
-
what a buck!
-
Serious character in that rack.
-
-
FIL has a muley with a double main. Second beam is a fork outside of the true main. They counted the entire second horn as non-typical points. Looking at that buck I'd say the inner mains with eye guards are the true mains and the outer beams are non-typical points. Inside spread credit doesn't look like much.... Cool buck!
-
NICE buck! Id guess high 170s 180ish...
