So I already have a fantastic rifle, but a buddy was selling a stainless SPS 243 at a good price so I'm taking it. Originally thought just something to compliment my 280AI, going to leave it stock, and mostly use it at the range and just for fun. He even swapped the cheap plastic stock for a wood classic stock which would add a nice touch since I don't have a wood stocked anything.
Then my dumb ass starts to think of customizing...
Maybe a #3 @ 22" with another Hunter's Edge stock
Or the above but with the barreled action cerekoted in sniper gray
Or also a 22" #3, but with a slow twist spiral fluted barrel, cerekote the action black, with a GAP camo pattern stock
And many other possibilities...
Then I think why would I drop all that money into that when I already have a full custom that is better than I am at shooting? And don't even get me started on the things I could change with my RBros built rifle. Dumb thoughts of doing anything to it at all.
Don't get into custom rifles if you haven't already, it's a sickness that can't be stopped :chuckle:

I am like that with a variety of things. Always thinking some way to make it better or adapt something to another use. Drives me nuts. :bash:

i think i have that problem too. no wonder i have so many fishing rods, i have one for just about every purpose, then it becomes a big conundrum trying to figure out what i want to bring along, and usually spend my time on the water wishing i had brought something else instead, just because i "had" to put some time on that one.
same way with rifles, all of mine kind of overlap a bit. i just try to appreciate them the way they are and not go crazy making them all specialized like my fishing gear.
