mules don't freak out and run if a predator charges?

wonder how one would do if a wolf was biting at it's hocks and I was banging off 10mm rounds

Too much little red riding hood?

maybe

but then I've heard of a few wolf encounters with horses.  I've had horses go ape crap banannas under me over a bear, had em go down from freaking out in the brush with me on them and I don't bounce like I used too.  course I was always the hand riding the roughest horse too  :chuckle:

My horse doesn't like bears but I can say with assurance, in 31 years of serious mountain riding from British Columbia to most of the Western states, no predator has ever actually charged my horse.  A bull moose chased me once though, that was pretty exciting.  It's all part of the romance of packing in the mountains I guess.  I love it.
