So the first one. I drove down a long ridge road and stepped out of the truck then I hear a howl behind me I scramble for my calls. I call back at it and it goes quiet. I hop in the truck after a few min and turned around to leave as I'm driving down the hill I spot him. He turns and takes off through a clearcut so I put the truck in park hop out to find a rest. Once I set upIi yipped at him 200 yards away he stopped and blew him over with a 300 RUM. Ya I know it bit big but I was bear hunting in Aug. Yes my time is a hot comotity. The second was another coyote of opportunity. My buddy and I were out and about and we looked down this grassed over road and saw this guy just standing there. So I went past and put the truck in park and hopped out with a rifle and the calls. It was gone so we did a little calling and he popped out. My buddy popped him with a 300 Rum at 50 yards. It is still Aug. Finally on the third I went to a new area to see what kind of elk and bear sign I could find. I'm driving down the road and I look down a little spur andIi see this coyote jump off a little hill onto the road. I stop the truck get out it is still standing there I aim fire miss. It took off so I think it should follow the path of least resistance(down the road because it was thick reprod on both sides of the road). So I hop in the truck and start driving I get to a bend in the road and I see her about a hundred yards away park the truck load up bark she stops and I hit her at a 100 yards with my RUM. We had SEVERAL more encounters this year just couldn't put a bullet down range at them. Finally most big game seasons are over we can start to thin them out more.
