Hey guys I've been wanting to go for some notes and I was wondering if anyone would show me the ropes to predator hunting, or some general areas to hunt them!

Most public land in WA that has any kind of prey on it will have coyotes on or near bye. There was s plenty of info on public lands, grab your gun and get out and hunt. If your going to call get into your stand unannounced and set up so you can see a coyote before he can see or smell you. If you have some specific problems come back and ask. There are whole books written about hunting coyotes, I'd suggest picking up one for Christmas and looking it very real well, it will give you insight to the total hunting package.
Asking for good hunting spots because if it is really good it means it isn't hunted hard and people would like to keep it that way. Unlike fishing a lot inexperičnced, heck even an experienced can educate a coyote and make it even more difficult to hunt them.

Sorry to sound like an a$$ but there's more threads like this showing up all the time. Those of us the take our hunting serious are pretty stingy about sharing info cause we had to learn the hard way and despite what people think there is no easy way to predator hunt.

The 'huntsman1911' is putting together a hunt for this weekend in a post above yours. He may want a tag-a-long that wants to learn. A good way to learn is from a vet who's done it. Good luck.

Many learned from being taught, usually from an older relative. Some however are self taught. I thought one of the reasons for this forum was to help others, is it not?

Never mind them there are more people on here that are willing to help than not. Looks like you live in Wilbur or at least the general area. If you have access to land out there you have access to coyotes. I can't do anything this weekend, but if you have access to land in the area PM me and I would be more than willing to try to set something up with you and show you what I know.

Wannab, thanks for the offer, but I was just replying. This was not my thread. I know most people are willing to help, and that was sorta the point I was trying to make. And yes, I do live in between Wilbur and Creston. I am not an avid hunter, never have shot any big game, but have shot a few yotes. The only land I have access to at the moment is the in laws. They are extremely leery about others hunting on it as they have had cows and calves shot in the past. Stupid people are everywhere. I am currently not "hunting" coyotes, but do shoot them when they get stupid and come out in the day time to look the cows over. When time permits I will try to teach myself how to call and when, not if, I need help I have had a few offers, you included.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for helping I just believe there is so much info available on this sight there's no reason to ask again. No to mention other sites as well.

You live in a coyote rich habitat,I have been doing control work up your way for years .
The best way to learn to be a effective caller is to just get out there with a mouth call and learn the ropes.
If you can find a mentor all the better .
A good caller can and will teach you more in a day then you will ever learn in a season by yourself .
There are a few good callers up your way , Just ask around and see if perhaps one of them will spend a day with you and teach you stand selection, How to use the wind, and how to read a coyote.

Watch some videos, buy a Lohman "Circe", 3in1 mouth call. Camoflauge. Is a must. Once you start calling, continue for 1the hour without moving, fidgiting, or farting around. They will see you if your moving aound. Try to set up so you have a good backstop where nothing can sneak up behind you. It doesnt always work out though. Visit predatormasters.com
