DNZ doesn't make a mount for my newly acquired Model 70 .458 Win Mag., as it's built on an an express action. Thinking Warn QD rings and bases would be the best next option. Anyone here have experience with them...good, bad, otherwise. How do they compare to others? Seem to have good reviews.
Also any suggesstion on ring height for the QD's. Rifle does have rear and front sights on barrel, hooded on front sight. Warn QD's ring heights are .250" low, .375" medium, and .525" for high.
Pictures of rifle again for reference on sights.
Thanks in advance.

Warne QD's will work just fine, I've used them on the .375 H&H. As for your rear sight , I believe the scope you purchased won't come near it and your front hood will all but disappear when looking through the optics. I would keep the scope fairly low. Not too low as to have to roll your cheek/head over and not too high as to have to slightly lift your head. You want a clear view with a solid natural hold where your comfortable. It's just easier to mange recoil that way.

I have many set's of warne rings. They have been rock solid for me over the years. Unless you have a big of diameter scope I think you could get away with medium rings.

Scope is a Nikon Monarch African 1.1x4x24 Illuminated with a 30 mm tube. After reseaching different sites, I'm wondering if I can get by with a low set. With some brands low rings are recommended for scopes with objectives up to 34.

With the safety that rifle has it may very well work with "Lows" and not be too low. Either way it's going to be a classy set up when it's ready to hunt.
-
I would bet with particular scope the lows would work.

Thanks guys.....appreciate your help very much!

Not a problem, I think you will have a lot of fun with it.

They work well. Tighten them in the right sequence and torque. The do need lapping regardless of what they say.
-
The lows should work fine .I have mediums on 44mm. Make sure and use there torque specs

Went with Talley QD (low) rings and Talley bases.
