Stay away from here. Not only is it crap hunting, but it is dangerous. First time hunting here and I guarantee you it will be the last. As my brother and I walked out, we thought we would do ok, maybe a couple birds. Lots were flying and a ton in the area (because of the $h!% ponds), well soon reality set in. We start to see trash all over the place, spent shells, lawn chairs, buckets and styrofoam. Hunting over the years I thought I had seen skybusting, nothing compares to these jokers. Unbelievable. Why is it dangerous, car prowlers...apparently one of the worst spots in the nation, according to Everett PD, which were very helpful. At least 3 trucks hit, including mine, smashed window, stolen clothes and the only time my brother left his wallet in the car was this time. They have these jokers on camera using his credit card. I'll see if I can get a copy of the picture from Everett PD to post on here.

Wow that's BS. It's a shame that PD knows of the problem and yet aren't proactive in stopping it. I hope you get the identity of the offenders and have a chance to invite them to a BBQ. Guess what's for dinner, finger steaks........

Lame! Sorry about your rig and sorry to hear about Spencer sliding further into the murk or those ponds! Once upon a time... a guy could almost have a good hunt at Spencer. Better luck next time!
-
Sorry to hear that . I believe there were the same issues last year and the year before ....someone had the same bad experience last year . Only physical punishment would help ..... why don't you guys have someone keep an eye on the rigs ? Pay kids to watch over -it will be lot cheaper then $200 window and hassle ..... :twocents:

No good. I know a lot of people try to hunt that spot. Unfortunately no one packs out what they pack in from most reports and the tweekers work the rigs over.
-
Did you park at the boat launch and was this during the week? Sorry to hear, hopefully they catch the thieves!

This isn’t a new issue; it’s been a haven for Meth heads, thieves and the homeless for years. It isn’t even safe to walk there, the mud is full of broken glass and sharp edged metal trash.

Used to really grind that spot in high school and always would get birds. Haven't been in 4-5 years but by the sounds of it I'm glad. Canoes used to be the ticket.

I've frequented Spencer over the past half dozen years or so but always via boat. I never saw much trash beyond an occasional sunk boat or barge.
The hunting is poor so when I hit Spencer I had either not had time to scout or possibly taking a first timer. It's close and convenient but the pressure has been unreal and so has the sky busting... mostly - not all the time from those that walk in on the dyke.

I stopped hunting and fishing there 3 years ago. I was broken into 3 parking spots from the boat ramp during humpy season. I was gone for 3 hours and I was hit hard. They broke in and hit me hard. I was packed for my Bear and grouse hunt trip. They took 3,000 dollar worth of hunting stuff. :bash: I never Fished or Hunted there again. Unless a friend wanted to drive. We should set-up a trail cam up or have some one camoed out across the road to watch. ??????? is it legal to shoot the guy or gal in the back with 12ga rubber or bean bag? Just thinking Because the Police don't give a $%^ about the bustards braking into are rigs. We are last on there list of priority's. So if we come together and Police are self's to catch these bustard's. It might help until the next day after the police release's them with a slap on the hand. I might be easy catch same one. It is a deadend road. Have someone camo out good on each end of the road and have someone by the parking lot watching the bait rig. I say place a none working 12ga in the window of a truck and put a tracker in the stock. Just in case the bad guy gets away. Hmmmm It might be fun. Also setup a video or a black out trail cam.
