I would never ever trust a puppies health to a natural cure all. It will not kill all worms and stages of larvae. Go get your puppy wormed at the vet if you do not know which type of wormer kills each type of infestation common to puppies.

I don't see any reason to feed something inert if there isn't a reason to feed it? Not to mention puppies need to eat and have room in their little bellies to eat enough. not sure I want anything else going into a young pup. You'd probably have better results sprinkling it around the yard, doorways and bedding than feeding it internallly?

When I raised sheep I was working on a natural no chemicals sustainable farming practice. With the assistance of my friend who was the USDA farm inspector for organic farms, and my vet, and other sheep farmers we worked out a plan.
Firstly all new animals were quarantined in a specific area they were dewormed and fecal tested until declared worm free and then we held them in a pasture for a set number of days based on the drug I used and the time it takes to leave the system then they were put into the regular pasture rotation and fecals were done regularly. I considered feeding DE but my vet said it would really just be wasted money on as happy suggested inert ingredients. I was feeding a grass only diet so I too needed maximum food value.
I know plenty of dog breeders who reduce the use of dewormers by following a similar procedure fecal testing and clean environment go further to knowing/controlling the worm status than just random throwing stuff at it. Just my experience.

Old school way of worming that i know lots of people used to do. Spit chaw juice in your dogs mouth a couple times a week every once in a while.
Way back before all the crap in tobacco they took apart a cigarette and spreat it accross the leftovers and fed to the dog...

Go see your vet, get a fecal done (there can be more parasites there than what you can see) and follow their advice based on the results.
I got a Pointer six years back as a pup, a rescue, he had every worm imaginable in his system as well as giardia. That last one was not visible to the naked eye.

Get the liquid goat wormer.
Use that. 1 cc per 4.4 lbs. Do that three days in a row.
Takes care of the worms. That's what your vet is going to use.

The pup looks great and is putting on weight at the rate she should. I was mainly wondering if any of you have used Diatomaceous Earth and if you found it to be effective. I am not at all using it as a substitute for the puppy.
once you've wormed there should be zero continuing need to give your dog DE.

Caffeine and tobacco are bad news for dogs.
They really arnt good for people either, but that was kind of the discussion with the doc... Its kinda a double edged sword between "Poisening" yourself the correct ammount and living ultra clean.
I didnt say it was the best option, just a home remedy.
