The Cat Lady next door feeds all the stray cats, has 2 huge bird feeders, and throws a big bag of peanuts out for the squirrels every day. I have lived here over 20 years. Never had any stray cats living under all my cars, and definitely NEVER had any squirrel problems. Now they are digging up all my vegetable planters killing my stuff to hide the peanuts that rot..........and WORST of all now.......they have found their way inside the house...........
THIS MEANS WAR!!
Crossman Airgun cleaned and oiled.........got my camos on..........getting ready to "go in"............
They seem to be in the crawl spaces of my attic...............
Got a good mind to pop the little bastages and toss them over the neighbor's fence........... :yike:

Watch caddyshack for a few good pointers on rodent control. :chuckle:

At the hardware store, they sell some heavy gauge mesh that you can use to reinforce your soffit vents, which I would check to see if that is where they are getting in. I've had problems in the past with the old cheap screen that was installed on the house.
I back up to a green belt, but squirrels seem to go around my yard for some reason.

Tag this could get good!!
-
Oh and squirrels don't like peanut butter mixed with oats, if you are interested in keeping them around at all.
-
22 long CB caps. Killed many a cat in NY with them. 1 1/4oz of # 6 in a 12ga work well also, just a lot nosier.
-
Squirrels eat good ! Sounds like you have a readily available supply. Kind of surprised that with all the cats around you would have a squirrel problem unless the neighbor is keeping the cats to fat. Can you get a trapping permit for a nuisance problem ?
-
Don't stop in the attic.... Work the ones trespassing in your yard too.

Prep the cleaning station and make room in the freezer.
I spent a few years in the midwest. They eat good!

Do you need a permit for nuisance eastern greys and a cage trap?

FREEZE GOPHER!

Find some Aguila Super Colibri Ammunition 22 Long Rifle 20 Grain Lead Solid Point puts my pellet rifle to shame all I hear is the hammer drop. I've done rats, starlings and crows with ease with them. :bfg:

What your neighbor sees.

Freezer for the squirrels, dumpster for the cats IMO. CB shorts are quieter than the longs and still work on both of the aforementioned pests, where legal.

being the uber hunter that I am... 8).........I waited until dark, and the kids were home.........I am NOT going in there in the dark by myself without someone to drag me out by the ankles.. :yike:.....especially with nasty squirrels in there. :yike:
Sure enough they are in there......saw two......shot one outright........that Crossman pump aint THAT good but eventually did the job  the second one hid over in a corner out of the line of fire........while waiting for that one to poke his head out........one or two more were moving under the crawlspace floor in the insulation between the rafters...................
Exterminator time..........gonna call him up.
In mean time I see them in the yard...........its WAR.
Hope the cat lady sees it too........maybe I can have exterminator invoice her.
There is damage in the insulation also. So I gotta get the insurance guy on the phone in the morning..........hopefully I don't have to wait until dark to corner one of them!...... :tung:

Never eaten cat..... well, to my knowledge anyway.
Chinese restaurant?

Poisoning animals is a real problem with snail bait. Make sure you don't lace cat food, peanuts, cans of salmon, or any other foods that cats and squirrels like with snail bait. Snail bait is only for snails and it will kill those other animals when used liberally. Do Not Use Snail Bait Unwisely, or it will kill all of those cute kitties and squirrels.

Monitoring my surveillance cameras. Urban hunting sure has its percs.
Warm, wifi, coffee, 4 cams to watch............can't believe I didn't start doing this sooner.
Now its just wait and see how the neighbors react. Things can get real interesting then. Especially in THIS hilltop (Tacoma) neighborhood............ :yike:
-
Don't dumpster the cats! There awesome for a bone in stew! :chuckle: or good coyote bait! Tie one leg to a string and another to its tail and give it a good yank every couple minutes! It works, trust me!
-
CAT the other white meat. When I was sick in Taiwan my maid would bring me snake and cat soup/stew, tasty and I'm still here to talk about it.
Stewed squirrel and dumplings with a side of mashed rutabagas doused in butter and black peper or German sweet n sour red cabbage, it doesn't get any better than that.
-
Squirrels are territorial; once you kill the big dominate squirrels even more will move in. You have no idea how many squirrels are around until that happens.
I had to smoke an amazing amount before I was no longer bothered by these annoying little buggers.
Oh, and the best way to draw them out of your house is to set up your own feeder and then audios.
-
Well they are gone. New wire mesh across the opening. They won't be coming back. They haven't been coming in the yard since I killed the one......now some strategic deer netting to stop them using a couple of routes........
And I was thinking...........what about some rubber snakes........squirrels don't like snakes do they? There's not a lot of squirrel eating snakes around here but I wonder if it would work. :dunno:

I feel your fain Ductsquatch. I had a problem with them at my place earlier this past fall. Little sons chewed a large hole in my plastic trash can and made a huge mess! I shot two outright with the trusty Crossman bb gun, and trapped 5.
