Title: Boat stereo mount
Post by: 95powersmoker on January 12, 2015, 07:48:49 PM: Hey guys. I picked up a marine CD player for my 98 Alumaweld Stryker. It had a crappy little radio mounted under the dash when i got it. I removed that and now would like to install my new stereo. Any suggestions on a good inexpensive mount that would bolt under the dash? The last stereo was just screwed in place using the cradle that comes with a CD player.

Post by: lokidog on January 12, 2015, 08:03:38 PM: I would look at mounting a shelf to the bulkhead under the dash. This would help keep it out of the weather/spray if you boat much with the top down.

Should be able to bolt it upside down so it's hanging from the dash more or less. Should be good for all the bumps of being trailered too.

Post by: wildmanoutdoors on January 13, 2015, 05:58:26 AM: That mount from Cabelas is perfect if you dont have dash space for a din size opening (standard stereo cutout size)and or want better weather protection. You can also get them without the bracket to get it up tighter to the underdash.

Just make sure it dosent interfere with knees and or legroom.

Shouldn't be an issue. There is a speaker over on the passenger side. Should be able to get it over there. I need to spend some time tracing all the wires on this boat anyways.
