Boat stereo mount
« on: January 12, 2015, 07:48:49 PM »
Hey guys. I picked up a marine CD player for my 98 Alumaweld Stryker. It had a crappy little radio mounted under the dash when i got it. I removed that and now would like to install my new stereo. Any suggestions on a good inexpensive mount that would bolt under the dash? The last stereo was just screwed in place using the cradle that comes with a CD player.

I would look at mounting a shelf to the bulkhead under the dash.  This would help keep it out of the weather/spray if you boat much with the top down.

That mount from Cabelas is perfect if you dont have dash space for a din size opening (standard stereo cutout size)and or want better weather protection. You can also get them without the bracket to get it up tighter to the underdash.

Just make sure it dosent interfere with knees and or legroom.

That looks good.  I would consider mounting it on the passenger side if it is not too much trouble for you to run power over there.

Shouldn't be an issue. There is a speaker over on the passenger side. Should be able to get it over there. I need to spend some time tracing all the wires on this boat anyways.
