Old man and I are putting in for the archery elk tag. He is a resident and we both have points so he has great odds for the any elk tag but mine chances are about 20-25% as a non resident. I am putting in as second choice the cow/spike tag just so that I could still be there and hunt with him when he hopefully draws. At least I wouldn't lose my points so it wouldn't be too bad. Anybody have any experience hunting it? We know a guy that has a lot of experience in Oregon and he is giving us some places to scout but just wanted to see if anyone else hunts it.

We rifle deer hunted northwest of Thomason Meadows this past seasonion in the Chesnimnus, We are avid archery hunters for elk in WA and could not get away from the Elk , they seemed to be everywhere. Im not sure how much pressure that area gets durring archery season but might look into that area... We only hunted 3 days and saw elk every day...
