I'm thinking of picking this bow up for my dad. Does anyone have any opinions on this bow and know of a place in King or Pierce county where I could get the best deal on it? Any help would be appreciated. :)
-
Also just would like to hear other peoples opinion on another solid very good bow for around $700 just for the bow? Looking for opinions if I decide not to go with Matthews. Thanks.

My brother has one with the mathews rest and their attached quiver. I love the smooth draw and the bow is super quiet and still at the shot. I have not chronoed it yet, but I would guess it will be right in the 280fps area with a 420gr @ 70lbs, 28" draw. I did not like how short it was as I am taller at first but after shooting it I did not notice it as much. My brother really liked it and he is 5'8". I have shot most of the Mathews and it ranks right up with the best they have offered so far. You could probably shop around and find one for much less then 700 now. Let a few buy the new stuff and you should be less then 500 for the bow alone.

forget the dxt and buy the drenalin ive shot both of them numerous times and the drenalin is just too light and feels like a kids toy and the drenalin is just enough bigger to accomadate that and its the same bow just 4 inches shorter than the drenalin.... dxt actually stands for drenalin extreme

can't believe I'm saying this.. but Rainer archery out in Graham... my old bow shop went tits up last year... :bash: :bash: :bash: :'( :'( :'(
-
ya i'd go to Rainer Archery their the best around.....
-
craigslist has one on it today.

Or go to Sportco, sign up for the member and get the discount price. It's worth it for spending around 1K.

shop around, also go check out the Bowtechs.... you can get a new one for under that price. Also and I can't believe I am saying this, but shoot a bunch of different bows.... Hoyt, alpine etc... and buy the one that feels best. If you are looking for smooth, pretty fast and dead in the hand with zero shock... check out the Bowtech Admiral and Captains.....

Thanks for all the advice guys. My dad was also thinking of looking into the new Diamond Iceman. Anyone know much about this bow? Also he is second guessing the DXT because it's a lot smaller then most bows which wouldnt that mean its not as forgiving???
-
Shot the iceman, its a Ok bow for the price, diamond is bowtechs little sister bascially they miss/match bowtech parts to make a slightly lesser bowtech and call it diamond, I also suggest shoot as many as you can in your prie range and compare what they offer..... riser design, limb pockets etc.... then go with what you like best

I shoot a DXT and love it, very accurate and extremely quiet. It had no problem taking down my bull this year at 74 yards, complete pass through double lunged, so I'd say its fast enough.
