So I had put up my FoxPro up for sale on the classified section last week. After not getting any responses I decided to take it out today to try and call in some Coyotes in a area that I have seen a lot of sign. A friend of mine told me he has had a lot of luck with the woodpecker sounds. After 20 minutes or so i was getting antsi and decided to just play with the remote and different sounds like rabbit in distress and even coyote howling. I was scrolling thru all of the sounds when I glanced up and about s**t my pants. There was a cougar standing about 50 feet from me staring at the caller. I had left my big camera with the 400mm lens about 20 feet from me behind a fir tree. Then I remembered I had my phone with me. I took this picture of the cougar smelling the caller. The area I was calling in closed for cougar on the 1st of January.
Needless to say I am no longer selling the FoxPro and will be back when cougar opens up again.

Way cool. Did you also bring along fresh undies?
-
That puts you in a rare club, man. Nice catch on the pic.

If not, I bet he come out of the woods with only one sock.
-
Or missing a shirt sleeve. Either way.
-
Leaves will also work in a pinch, just don't grab any poison ivy!
-
Luckily I have a strong sphincter muscle so no need use clothing. And I do carry a roll of TP in my backpack.
-
Nice work. Looks like a good size cat!
-
His head is in the weeds right? What's with his back side funny looking? :dunno:
-
I bet your walk back to the truck was a little tight
-
Yeah his head is in the weeds where the FoxPro is at. His rear leg is back making his hip stick up and look big

Glad you and your complete wardrobe made it out in one piece. Looking forward to a pic of you holding this deer killer up in a big ol' bearhug.

You guys might have seen a picture like it a couple of years ago, but this one was from Feb 2015, he called me right after it happened.
-
Sorry to disappoint you guys but the picture was taken February 13th of this year with my I-Phone.

That is why I always get a little on edge when I am calling with mouth calls in the woods for coyote rather than on the farm. I always imagine turning my head to see a kitty hunkered down behind me.

That is very cool!! Thanks for sharing that adventure.....
