A couple of years ago we had something happen that I have;nt heard of before. My grandson had shot at a bear and came home to get his dad and I to go with him to see if he hit it. We looked for the bear but he had missed it. On the way out of the woods my boy said look at the cougars. There were five cougars about 150 yards below us. We shot one and another one ran and sat on it and we shot that one and one more. When we went to the game department to have them tagged the warden said he had never heard of it either. One was about 125 pounds and 4 years old and the female was 100 and 6 years old and a small one that was 2. He thought maybe the female was in heat but did;nt know why they would all be together like that. We had two made into rugs and the little one full sized and reaching for a wood duck.

Very Cool, We saw 2 cougers run across the road in the daylight this year.
One of the guys at Bob's Sports store here in Longview has a cam shot of 3 cougars in one shot.

Nice mount.
Arlington Hardware has one like that of a bobcat reaching for a grouse. Pretty cool. 8)

Most excellent mount.
I also like your deer mounts...very impressive.
-
Sounds like a once in a lifetime experiences. Awesome mount, looks like you have a nice "man" room going there too

They were from the north river 658 unit I it was the only time I have seen there. I had a really nice 150 pound one from the clearwater unit when it was legal to use dogs and I drew a permit for the area and some friends had hounds but I let my boy hang it at his house while we did some sheet rocking and he lost it in a divorce. It still makes me mad.

That even makes me mad. >:( I bet she didn't even care about the cat but just took it so your boy couldn't have it. :bash:

I have tried to get it back but it;s on her dads wall now and he does;nt even hunt. It was a special thing there were three of us with permits and the other two had already went out in the ocean to crab when we got a call they had a big cat treed and needed someone with a permit. The cat had been in the tree over 6 hours and they had the dogs under the tree. We got a couple more friends and there kids and made the 2 hour drive to the clearewater then hicked about a mile up a little stream to the tree. The cat was about 30 feet up in a big fir tree over a steep drop off into a creek.. I had neven seen one before and it was beautiful it looked like it owned the woods. When I shot it jumped out of the tree and over the bank and I ran to the edge to see and they let the dogs go and the next thing I was rolling down the hill and slid right into the spot where the cat had stopped. The dogs were fighting and barking and my feet were on the cat boy I was scrambling to get out of that mess. Those dogs when they get excited bite everything in sight and with me right in the middle of it. It was something to remember so I sure wish I could find a way to get it back.

That is a really nice mount, who did it? They did an awesome job on the face.
-
Ron Stoller in Raymond wa. did the mount he does our deer and elk also.
-
Ron is a really good guy. have you seen the mounts in his house?
-
Some of the african antelope are outstanding and I did;nt know turkeys were so colorful the ones he has in the glass cases are really nice. It;s fun to look at all the stuff and hope that someday. Did you see the elk he got in utah at book cliffs it;s big it;s either in huntin fool or eastmans.

:yeah:She shouldn't have been able to take "YOUR" property. I would have a attorney send her and her dad a letter. I'd bet you would get it back. Should only cost you around $100 unless you have a friend that's a attorney.

yea ive seen the whole thing in there, ive known him since i was little. my hunting partner shot one of the turkeys in the case over in dayton. and the pool table is great too. he does do really good work.
-
Heck of a day. Three cougars in one day, WOW
-
Game dept last year hung a cam outside off Ione on a roadkill deer, there are 5 cougars I think on it at one time, I will take a pic of it next time I am in the archery store.
-
A local superintendent for a construction co. gave me this pic his mom took while she worked in the Green river watershed.
I can see 3 cats on an elk kill, between them and the Muckleshoots the elk herd has been really thinned out up there.
-
wow :mgun: :mgun:

I saw 4 together in Montana. I rounded a curve at daylight(working not hunting)and saw 4 animals in the middle of a dirt road run around the next corner. WTF? I thought they were coyotes and sped up. As I was driving around the next curve looking for the coyotes I see 4 Cougars about 40 yds away in the middle of the road!!! :yike: A mother and 3-3/4 grown cubs. The cubs ran up the open hill and into the timber and the mother followed. I sped up to were they were and started looking in the timber about 20 yards away. And the mother was just inside the timber looking at me!!! :yike:

Yeah, that pic from Green River looks like a mamma and two grown babies that she hasn't kicked out yet. She looks mature and the two smaller ones are both about the same size.
...hmmm that would be fun if you were out fishing... run into a herd of hungry cougars....
I am diggin' the man-room in the first photo too. Got me beat.
