Title: Bowtech Boss
Post by: JPhelps on February 28, 2015, 07:12:12 PM
I drove down to Eugene to pick up my Bowtech Boss from the factory.  It's getting some new G-strings from xXx archery and then I will put it through it's paces. I'm excited to shoot a bow designed and built for big guys!!!

big guy like yo and a bow called the "boss" id have thought you'd have 80# limbs on there. i stepped up to 80 last year and with a 31" draw the speed and energy are unbelievable. i wont be going back till i just cant draw it any more

You must rate pretty high to get one of those so early! :tup:

RadSav there was a top secret operation put into place to snag one of the first 5 to come out of the factory.

Longwalker I shot 86 last year but I think 72 will be just fine.

I don't even know what to say.

Jason is a monster.  He should have played tight end for some pro team.  I saw his 80+# bow, he really does pull those weights.  As D-Rock says, these big guys just leave me speechless.   :hello:

I got a plan we take 2 inches off Jason's arms implant that 2 inches on my arms and we can both have normal draw lengths.

This looks like it could be a good contender for the gap for dudes like us.  Curious to hear your opinion of it compared to the Energy 35.  I am sure each will have there pro's and con's.  Are you going to go with the 32" DL.  I watched some videos on there different setting that you can change in the draw cycle?  I thought RadSav would have something to say about that "technology" for sure?

Not much to say.  Most will set it for full tilt and just leave it there.  Not much different than putting on Rock Mods other than you don't have to pay extra for the option.  The new riser on the other hand...flippin great!!! :tup: :tup:  Stiffer and better balanced than most.  Great bow if they can figure out how to mass produce it and get it on dealer shelves. :bash:

Yeah at 71 lbs I'm just going to set it on #1 (high performance) and leave it there.  Hogslayer I'll most likely shoot it at 31.5"

RadSav, I heard the reason for delayed production of the boss was the fanatic riser and boss riser had to be cut on the same machine and Bowtech wanted to get the fanatic out in competition (seems like a smart business move), but it sounded like a bunch of BOSSes will be coming out of the factory this week.

Bye the way, the Boss I shot at the factory shop was NICE!!!

Keep an eye on the screws that hold the module in place (along with the other screws in the cam area)... there's a reason they suggest using blue loctite in the manual.

Welcome to the team Jason.  The 360 I got is more than I thought a new bow would be.  shoots flat as ever.  Ton of power and speed and super smooth draw.  The six inch brace height worried me but its acurate at 100 yards consistently with little practice.  The Hogg father helps with the long shots too.

I always blue loctite the draw mod and will do the same to the power disc as well.

My prodigy sheared both of the tabs off.  It's the shiny metal circle in the pic.

That looks nice,
You might actually be able to kill a big bull now :}
Just think what you would have killed the last couple years if you would have stayed with your Bowtech:}
Welcome back to a quality bow
Cant wait for reviews  :tup: :tup:

Have  you ran a 430 grained out of it? I kinda figured  she would a pushed your 530 a Lil quicker  in that long draw length.

I haven't shot anything out if it besides the 535 for now.
