Yep thanks BOBCAT!

The elk population went from 16k in 1989 to less than 1k today. Wow. Sickening.
-
Only 19....if they need more ammo I'm sure a collection could be taken up.
-
Idaho for Wildlife on Facebook, is very good for info too.

I smell a spin coming.

How can anyone be employed after this kind of incompetence :bash:

All you have to do is blame habitat for many years and then go to work as WDFW's new director.
The overall objective is to maintain a smaller, but self-sustaining, population of wolves in the Lolo zone to allow the elk population to increase.
Idaho Fish and Game does not yet have a cost estimate for last month’s wolf control action in the Lolo elk zone. The entire cost will be paid using Wolf Depredation Control Board money funded by sportsmen and women through purchase of hunting licenses.
First the USFWS illegally introduces wolves in Idaho, then with the help of IDFG they protect them for several years, then they leap to their feet and discover the wolves are killing off the ungulates. Now they will pretend to control wolves and charge the very same people who had it right from the beginning. Wolves kill, thats all they do, they benefit nothing!

"More than 90% of the state’s wolf packs are located outside of the Lolo Zone."
And many of them are now in Washington. I had several bulls screaming in a Basin this past September, and all I could think about was if my 2 year old son will get to experience this or will it be gone. Just because your particular hunting spot isn't destroyed yet doesn't mean it isn't happening. Don't forget to kill a bear every year too. Wolves are the worst, but every predator that hits the dirt helps.
