What do you guys use as a cleaning cradle? I am in the market for a rifle cleaning set-up and I have my eye on an M&M set up as well as a Plano version. Any tips before I buy?

I just lay it on the table. But I have used a vise and then wrap the stock in leather before putting it in the vise in order to do boresighting.

never used one

I bought one of them gun cleaning kits at Walmart that comes in the wood case. It has a cradle that you can put in the top to hold the gun. Does a pretty good job and doesnt cost a lot. Plus it comes with a cleaning kit. :)

I'm in the market for one of those too. I'm tired of having to find a place to lay my rifle while I clean it or work on it.

I am pretty sure I am going with the M&M version, I'll post after I get a chance to use it

PACT any kind with a clamp. Mine just pressure fits the stock in place. There are several out there. Just anything to hold the rifle in place.

I ended up getting a Plano shooters case that has a removable cradle system. The cradle portion works quite well, I used it when I was resetting the relief on my scope. I would recommend it for the price (about $30) if you are looking for a cradle/cleaning supplies storage solution.

I have an older version of this one, I absolutely love it for cleaning the long guns.

I flip the bi-pod down and set the rifle on the table... nothing beats a bi-pod... ok, maybe Chuck Norris beats a bi-pod... but nothing else!

I use the Tipton range box and like it a lot.
