Title: My X-mas present
Post by: MHWASH on January 01, 2009, 06:55:33 PM
My lovely wife bought this Winchester model 88 from her dad for  me. It was built in '61.

awesome rifle in great shape!  You don't see those much anymore!  Nothing like the feel and sound of an old school lever or pump action rifle!

good looking rifle. I know that there was a recall for firing pin failure on these rifles. Do a google search and you should find some info.

Thanks for the nice comments. If I remember correctly this is the 7th firearm she has bought me.  :)

I've heard about the firing pin recall, need to look into it.

Very beautiful rifle, .308 is my favorite not just for the woods either. Shot last 4 deer in Eastern WA in open country.

Once coyote season is done, I'll get to working up some loads. Believe it or not I've never shot a .308.
