I am just curious to what size shot you prefer and why? For ducks?
-
4
Because the box says it should work and it does.
-
Overall #3s..
-
I was looking on another sight and it was talking about how many pellets to each shot and found it interesting.
Made me curious to what everyone else uses.
I sometimes wonder if the brand of shells matter too?
We use 2 or 3's but, I have seen the waterfowl on the box of #4's. There are a lot more pellets in the#4's than the 2's.
Thanks

I like BB's threw 6's. What ever is cheap. My all time favorite duck/goose load is 3'' BB's 1 3/8oz Federals. I will buy this load in Win or Rem too, but like the Federals best. I use these under decoys, jump shooting, or any waterfowl hunting!

3's work best for me
-
4s for everything but upland and geese, great universal load wont tear up a small bird like a teal or wood duck but brings down mallards with no problem at all and if one sneeks up on us will bring down a goose if it has to
BB's for geese
6's or 7's for upland

Thanks!!

I use 3" #2"s for ducks and geese. I also use 3" BB's if i am hunting just geese.
I switched from Remington to Estate recently and started killing more ducks.
I use 7 1/2 for grouse and quail.
#4's for pheasant

Thanks for the info. I have heard Estates are cheap but, do very well.
-
estates are good enough for doves and quail...
-
#2 shot for ducks...BB for geese. Either load will do for the other in a pinch.

:yeah:
