Hi guys,
I'm new here. Moved in a few months ago from the Midwest where I hunted a lot of whitetails. However, I'm interested in hunting elk out here next fall (in both the east and west) and was curious as to what kind of tactics you all employ for both bow and rifle.
Thanks

In Washington you have to chose east or west side, you can not do both for elk. Also you have to chose rifle, bow or muzzleloader. You can't hunt with all unless you draw a special permit. So my advice is chose which side & general area and weapon of choice. Then re-ask your question with a little more info. You will get the answers you are looking for. Welcome to the site. If you look at the old elk topics you will find lots of info. Mike

North and East Facing slopes during summer early fall and when the snow flies look for them on south facing slopes.
Also areas with meadows and grasses or clear cuts where they like to feed.
