Posting for a friend, not my deer! :) He recently finished mounting his 2014 muzzleloader general tag muley. 34" wide, 26.5" inside. Bases on both sides were 8". These reduced pictures don't do it justice, full size they look way better!

Pfft. Crabby back fork, not symmetrical. Last day shooter, but only if close to the road. :chuckle:
Seriously, awesome specimen of a Washington buck!! Congrats to hunter, mount looks incredible.
-
That was an old deer, wasn't too many winters left for him.
-
You need to stand back alittle further and take acouple more pics, cant see the entire pic haha! Story?

:yeah:
Look at that roman nose. Really dig the dark blaze on his chest too. I would not care a lick what he scores - that is one impressive animal.
-
Skillet - the hunter and the taxidermist is one and the same. He does really great work!
Skookum - I'm afraid the story is much less exciting than the results. I think if I recall correctly his hunt was over within an hour of opening day. No field pics as his camera battery was dead! >:( These are also his pictures. I'll try and get some more pics of my own !
Kball - Ok he just told me the deer was over 8.5 yrs, aging tool only went that far.
-
What GMU was it taken? Aren't too many places left for a deer to get 8.5+ years old.

GMU? Heck, as long as were asking I'd like the GPS Coordinates of the kill site. :chuckle:

Love the 3 !!! Amazing Deer, true old warrior!

Ok talked to my buddy, and no, he's not keen on divulging the GMU. ;)
Also, he noticed a couple references to it being a 3 point, and thought because of the angle some folks didn't notice the 4th point on the right side.
And thanks for the comments ! He's a "shoot the first legal" type of hunter, and this one just happened to be the first one he saw! :)

Who did the mount, nice work
-
Alpine is notorious for big three's..
-
Blindluck - He did the work himself, he's a licensed taxidermist. His day job is a biologist.
-
Nice mount and a handsome buck. Would put that on my wall with pride. Congrats to the shooter!

Antlers aside (and they are sweet ) that is one of the best looking deer I have EVER seen. Stud.

I don't know what some of you are talking about. We have some HUGE mule deer in Washington State. Maybe if some of you would take the time to get your lazy butts off of your 4 wheelers and actually hunt, you might harvest some deer like this once in awhile. With that being said that is a nice buck and congradulations to the hunter who shot him.

Huh? ONE persone mentioned that it was a great buck for WA. That was Boneaddict. I don't know him, but from the posts I've seen over the years, I would bet he doesn't spend much time on top of an atv while hunting, and I know he knows there are some big deer in WA.

Tell your buddy that he does some fine taxidermy work. Great buck and a beautiful job mounting it.
-
Thank you, I will tell him! I need to go through my pictures of some of his other stuff and post it.
