Last few days I have been looking at the range type spike tents. I like the simplicity of them, 4 stakes and a center pole. Seems pretty durable and easy for solo hunting trips to weekend warrior camping with the family. And weighing in at 50 lbs I know it is much too heavy for backpacking. I see Montana canvas makes one and seems really nice but I found reliant tent co. Makes them as well, and has a model with 2 or 4 ft walls. Also very appealing. Thing is I've never heard of reliant before. Any body here have any testimonials or advice for that matter? I'm all ears for ideas and advice on the matter. I'm not to savvy on the cut and paste thing to post pics of the tents I'm talking about, sorry.

Thanks bobcat. The Dave Ellis canvas site looks like a good product. Think I'll give em a call.

a friend of mine has a Montana canvas tent that leaks and leaks. he has to cover it always. they sent him some stuff to paint on it but no help. don't know if they are all like his . I have a rainier tent that does not need a cover but when it is cold I cover it for the heat deal. mike w
