I've done well fishing from shore in April on the main  snake river. Mid may into June should be good for the shallows in the Palouse. They might've started early this year since its been warmer earlier this year.

Any recent reports?  Are the Carp splashing yet?  Water temps?  Catfish biting?

If not any recent reports, I'm heading over there this Thursday thru Sunday to target catfish.  Will let you know what I find.

Take care,

Carp are rolling all over, water temps were upper 50's. We caught 11 in a little over two hours then the weather changed and the wind blew and only caught 4 in the next four hours of fishing..

I'll be at a tent spot, Kodiak canvas tent, crew cab titan with canopy. Adam should be arriving around 7 and will be in a f-150 Parked at my camp spot. Ed and company will be at a RV spot with his fifth wheel (I think) and big blue Dodge.

Craig, swing by if you can.

We ended up with 24 for the weekend was all. The biggest fish from our group was caught by my best friend Scott Imholt 10.1 lbs which is #1 in the derby right now, wifes best was 7.7lbs, mine 7.3 lbs I believe. Still was just an ok weekend for us. Sat was windy and our best day was Friday evening where we caught 11 in a few hours.

We did make it.  But even on plane, I was hitting mud.  So, just tilted motor and idled using depth finder.  Shallowest part was 1 to 1.5 feet, as my depth finder wouldn't read less than 1.5'.  For the most part, water level on the Snake river bridge was about 46', which is low.

FYI, not sure how long they've been missing (as I wasn't able to go last year), but some jerk pulled all the channel marker poles!

Also, fishing was pretty slow Thursday evening thru Sunday morning.  In my boat, we only caught 10 cats.  Biggest was 8lb.  Other boat with our group only caught two cats and one walleye.  Friday afternoon thru late Saturday afternoon was tough; lots of wind!

Sorry man, we were getting blown around in the wind at the mouth of the Tucannon...lol.  Thought we'd give it a try, as it was really slow fishing (and windy) on the Palouse Friday.  Based on YJ's report, sounds like we should have braved the waves to get up the Palouse Friday afternoon/evening.

Take care,

.7 was the lowest I got in the mud flats. Had no issues crossing hammered down and wide open in my prop boat.
Great company poor fishing and amazing stories.
Woodchuck, my apologies again. I had no idea I would have no service on the water when I had full service at camp.
Water temps were 62-66 on my electronics.
Punch bait went 50/50 to cut bait. Slip bobber to hook with no weight went 50/50 as well.
Thanks again boys and gal for the fun weekend.
