Will be my first time participating in the madness, what can a guy expect? Ive never found a shed in all my years of hunting and hiking. Not a hoarder or bone crazy type person, just looking for a couple unique hat racks!
Any tips for a shed noob?

I'll be in a black jeep wrangler with a big WA ducks unlimited decal. Feel free to say hi!

Get there really early and be prepared to be in a long line. I will say the elk did not spend much time congregated so the shed hunting should be more spread out it may effect the numbers of people that show up. I don't know I avoid crowds in the woods so I have avoided this annual people zoo.
And you use of JW made me think why would people be going Jehoviahs witness tomorrow. :chuckle: :chuckle:

I figured it's worth a shot, I'm gonna spend most the day there looking for sheds, then it's on to the morel woods for the next day or so. That's my true obsession!!

Go high and burn boot leather till you drop then turn around and head back to your rig. Keep your eyes on the ground of course. :chuckle: Good luck!

I always give it a day or two. We will see how it goes alot of the elk that winter there didnt show up this year they stayed higher in taneum and manastash. alot of sheds have been geting picked up in the taneum. Good luck to everybody

One small, chewed up 2 point deer shed. Didn't see a single elk shed, or anyone carrying one
-
No luck here either. The only thing I brought home was a bunch of ticks!
-
I picked up a 5 pt and a matched 4x4. Nothing huge. Saw several others carrying some.
-
Post a photo for us who got skunked! It was my first time there and I don't know the area at all. I hiked alot just didn't get lucky I guess. I should mention the two point was my first shed ever, too bad it was chewed up
-
Walked seven hours around the upper Robinson drainage and found one two year old four point. I have been going to the joe watt opener since the mid nineties, usually find one or two, last two years have been very unlucky. I must have used up my hunting luck when I filled my elk tag last fall.

A guy told me they found a bunch up there on Friday. I think ill be there next year!

Got to my spot around 930 and saw a lady that already had 3. Made me wish I had shown up at 4. Here's how I managed

Also found a little deadhead 2x3 that had been laying there for awhile

Good lookin 6pt there! From the looks of the way things went there I'll be skipping oak creek after how bad it was and going to joe watt next year! Or possibly wenas, I heard they cleaned house.
-
Picked up a few as well once every body left friday.
-
Awesome finds guys! I need to make the time to get over to the east side and actually find some sheds one of these years. Looks like a blast!
-
Glad some of you found them. When I went down there in March there were few elk to be found
