Of the two known nests in our yard only one is being used this season. She's been busy, must have arrived pregnant or we just missed the early courtship this season. I'll try to update this as it progresses as it is in an easily accessible spot.
It's on one of these mountain ash branches. Very camoflaged.
Some Camo company could copy this pattern and we would be invisible

These eggs are tic-tac sized for those of you that haven't seen them before

Oh Sorry. It's a humming bird

Not a great pic but she wasn't in the mood for better. I think they hatched 48 hrs ago but couldn't get close till today. 2 babies and she is quite the protective mom.
Just love watching her!!!

Nice. :)

well here is about 2 wks of growth since the last pic. Mom has been keeping me at bay, but she wasn't around them today. They fill out that nest quite well.

Awesome shots. Amazing you even found the nest!
Thank you
-
Kentrek that is cool. Was that nest on top of a wind chime? kinda funny to see the location she chose for that nest.

If we hadn't seen her land on that branch one day while we were standing there, we never would have seen it. I still have to look twice to find it and I look at it about daily. She used the same nest last year as well.

Yup rite on top of the wind chime, but it's pretty protected from the weather...i think next time I'm going to try an every 3 day picture
