I have been hitting lake LaCamas pretty hard the last few days for cats. Fresh liver sun cured liver and garlic salt and still nothing I am using a slider rig with 2 foot leader with hooks from 12 to 2/0 I have used worms and powerbait liver for catfish. I'm starting to get frustrated. It took me less time to catch the "alusive" steelhead. But seriously if someone can help me out it would be great. I have been fishing by the red Victorian house and past that where you can park on either side and before the red house. Any advice would be great. I'm using my 10ft med lite rod and a bait aster with 15lbs test. You can pm me I'll give ya my phone number or whatever you need.

Try some fresh cut bait, that usually works on all cats no matter what body of water

:yeah: and are you in the weeds? Maybe lengthen your cast or shorten, lengthen your leader up a touch... I've never had much luck on store bought catfish bait, always used worms or fresh cut...

I know this is completely general, but it might not be your bait or approach.
It could be you are fishing at a bad time and place to catch catfish :dunno:
Are other people there catching fish?
Might find something useful here: http://www.washingtonlakes.com/ReportList.aspx?id=171&t=1 (http://www.washingtonlakes.com/ReportList.aspx?id=171&t=1)

We all have our own remedies  but my all time favorite is a Nightcrawler dipped in Vanilla Extract ..I caught many catfish using this method than any other ...I usually run a slip sinker and about 3 ft of leader ..Then I use a syringe to blow them up

Thanks. What kind of fresh cut bait like squid or shad? Also can you use bluegill for bait? I'm fairly new to this

I dont know how it works on the eastside but on this side this early I always took a couple cans of cheap cat food, poked a million holes in it and just used fire line and some weight to sink it one of the bow one off the back, it usually didn't take long, we would end up with more perch and catfish that I never thought I would get them all cleaned, I just rigged up our rods with drop lead and 3 ft of leader and good ole night crawlers... who knows now days its probably illegal to chum..
