Noticed that GMU's 105-124 is open for any white-tailed deer for youth. Looking to take my daughters over there next year to chase some of them around. Just looking for some areas to start out with not your honey hole. Have never hunted that far east in the state so any info on good areas to scout before the season would be appreciated. :)

Anywhere over there would be fine, depending on how bad the winter might be. I have done it with my oldest daughter and it was a bunch of fun. There can be a lot of deer running around.

My mom lives in Kettle Falls (where I grew up). If my son hadn't tagged up down here in Walla Walla during the first week of the season, that was going to be our backup plan. Lot's of deer up there. Lots of public land too.

me and my brother hunted in the huckleberry gmu and we came out with a 3x4 preety good for first time hunting whitetails , i found it let him take it , last day of season came across a big 5x? in same area he was huge , only thing was he was on private land

this past season was bad, going to be even worse this year. Usually lots of deer running around

This was last year. I took up a couple of guys from Walla Walla who hadn't tagged up, we hit the late season. THis is 2 days of hunting. I think you're right about this year though. My sister still lives up there. She, my nephew and her stepdaughter all ate tag soup this fall. Her husband got a nice 5X5 last day of the late season.
I didn't go up this year, tagged a mulie down here in the early season.

i didnt know jared hunted...

it was his first buck. Shot in the last few minutes of legal light, on the last day of the late season. It was actually a pretty big deer, just had a really small basket rack. Flipped my buddy's 4 wheeler over trying to get it out.

Thats great congrats to your son! And you killed a real nice 4 point looks like a great year. I decided to pick up archery huntin for the first time this year. Ive got my buck just about every year for 9 years with a rifle and wanted to try something different. Heres the buck i got

where did you guys hunt at?

Congrats on your first archery buck Nick. I know you've killed some big muleys with rifle. I saw that picture on the "08 deer lets see 'em", didn't realize it was you.
Justin got his opening day north of Lowden. It was the 3rd buck we saw that morning, and the first one that wasn't running from the shooting galllery with it's tounge hanging out. I got mine in 154. First deer from the mountains since I've moved here. It was a gift. Nearing end of the season and I was mostly chasing forkhorns with eye guards for meat. A buddy was up at our elk camp cutting firewood and saw him in a clearcut. Drove all the way back to Walla Walla and called me. I worked till 5:00, drove to my house, got my gear, drove all the way up the mountain, parked the truck, walked in, looked in the draw he was supposed to be in... and there he was. I was shocked he was still there.
