Well was out turkey hunting in the Teanaway. Did a really nice setup. Plenty of turkey sign from prior weekend. Out before first light. Doing light calls. About 7:30 or so did a set of yelps. 5 minutes layer I caught movement 100 plus yards at the wood line across the field not turkeys but thought they were deer. Cool. Nope coyotes going parallel to us. Saw or decoy turn and head towards us. I am hunting with a member from the forum. We were sitting at a very wide tree. He was on one side I was on the other doing the calling. When they turn to us. I glass them. Hey those don't look like coyotes to me. So I am calling Paul do you see this. They keep coming and I am loudly whispering Paul hey Paul 30 yards. Paul finally answers, he had gotten up and was standing behind the tree because he couldn't feel his rear end anymore. He got out his phone and stayed video. I had my shotgun up and safety off. 20 yards the big one turns up a road that goes behind us. I noticed a collar on itthe second looks really young maybe not a year old guess what collar on it too. Not a regular dog type collar but the size of a GPS tracking collar. Paul has video so I hope he sees this and posts it for your guys opinion looked to me like they were wolves. I wouldn't think that coyotes have collars on them.

The best way to identify a wolf is to shoot it first :o

I was thinking the same thing. The video is from an iphone and the format is in 3gpp. I won't upload anyone no how to reformat?

Hope this work. Video is kind of blurry.

Nice capture ...

Thanks for sharing, unfortunately this has become normal in the last few years, the deer populations have plummeted and no one seems to care
-
Thanks Josh for posting that.

Hey Russ,
I'm going to make some loops through areas by North Bend, see if I find any woof sign.
-
My brother was there last weekend and saw some deer running away from some. Never saw the wolves but deer running all over at full speed and then found a few set of wolf tracks. Is that up the middle fork?
-
Should a ground checked them

Yea thanks Josh.
I was watching them too long, I was like...coyote? No...hey they have collars....hey wait those are awful big to be yotes.
That young one is weird looking....Hey! Get a video! Those are Wolves!!

I wondered when this would happen, I honestly figured it would happen further east than you were Russ. Makes me real excited to take my kids out :yike:. If that were me and one of my kids I may not have been so composed and I doubt I would be able to get my kid out there again. Great video for what it is and while I great story I hoe to never be so lucky :bdid:.

We weren't that worried. My shotgun was ready. Also had my .40 on my side. Paul had his shotgun and .45. We had plenty of fire power. We did decide to get out of there though since we lost sight of them. No wonder why there was no birds.

looks to me like you seen 3 of them not 2 as the title says. Two grays and a black.

10 years from now when there are no elk left in tenaway and you try and explain to your kids what it was once like you may wish you blinded those killing machines. do you sleep better at night knowing you obeyed corrupt liberal rules. Idaho paying tax dollars to kill wolves BC paying tax dollars to kill wolves but in our liberal state which is connected to these states needs more wolves go figure.

Won't happen. The enviro nuts want to end hunting because they don't want hunters killing elk and deer. They feel sorry for them. They want wolves because they think it eliminates the need for hunters and adds an animal that they want in the wilderness. The thing is, if there is no food, there are no wolves. At some point the goals of hunters and those nuts will reach parity, the question is when.
Poaching, or whatever feel good talk you want to label killing a protected animal with, will simply play into their hands and what they've accused hunters of doing. Recklessly destroying wildlife.
It's a lose/lose situation.

Ok guys. I posted this video up for everyone to see while we were hunting. I don't what this thread to be a carry on over from the Snoqualmie wolf caught on cam thread. http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,174634.msg2309860/topicseen.html#new (http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,174634.msg2309860/topicseen.html#new)
