Off work and on the way to compete with the masses. Going to try and find a quiet corner of a dry camp. Hoping for an uneventful trip and at least see a bear. Sounds like some flash floods in the area? Got to fill at least one of the tags in this unit.

Good luck. If you need any help, you know where to find me.
-
Good luck....hit em hard!!
-
Go get em! Good luck.

Good Luck....and make sure to update with pics when you hammer a boo boo

You're gonna have a helluva a hunt. I would hunt hard after the storm moves through this evening. I guarantee you will see bears after this storm! You've got a killer tag! 1 of 5.
PM me if you want a few tips. I've got a few bears that need thinned.

I would be sitting right here after that gully washer clears out. :o
-
Hell, this guy might even show up!
-
Stopping for a power nap. Been a long day already. Hope I can pull in this evening. OK Timber, if that's in my unit don't toy with me. :o
-
Spend a few days on Tallow Flats and you should run across a bear or two... Good Luck!
-
Go get em, and rember to tie down your shelter to be secure in high winds. Watch out for falling branches. Good luck, aim small-miss small.

He texted back last night, nothing down at that point.
-
Still no sign of any kind for bear. Deer, elk, bunnies, grouse, and ticks.
-
Maybe down lower, closer to the river?
-
Yup, might have to take the trailer down the grade.
-
From where you are, if you head down straight past the monument, about 2/3 down, there is a pulloff to the left at the head of a big canyon. Saw lots of sign in that canyon last fall. :dunno:

The east side of the area was full of campers and ATV's. The Spinner's ATV club out of Pomeroy was having a rally this weekend. Any bears were headed for the hills. There was more camper's there today then during elk season. Kids of all ages racing around on atv's and dirt bikes, not quiet weekend I was looking for. Did get a nice mess of morels and packed up and went home.

Struck out. Fresh tracks on Sunday 3 1\2 miles up Cummins Cr. Followed for 1 1\2 miles. Looked like a sow and yearling. Only sign I seen in both trips. May have to take spring bear off the bucket list. If Tucannon is a walk in the park, I'll leave the Blue's for the kids to play in. Might of missed my window by 20 or so years.

Just finished filling out my hunters report. I want to thank everyone who provided information, made suggestions, and helped when I was down. I never fired a shot or notched a tag, but I did meet good people every step of the way. Thanks to all. GH

Glad you shared your trips along the way.

when you or over there for bear do you ever walk up the road just above the store it would be the road to the left as you head up the river right before you cross the first bridge . There is a apple orchard just up the road on the right hand side that always has bear in it during deer season .

I'll keep that in mind for a fall season. Think I'm spread a little thin this year.
