If I sat down and ate all my tags this year it would be a full meal. :bash:    Wa deer, Id deer, Wa bear, Id bear, Wa elk.
I can say I'm satisfired though, I passed up critters with every tag but the elk. I was holding out for really good bucks and it just didn't happen. Passed up 5 bucks 3x4 or better in Idaho, dinks.... The only bear was toilet seat cover size.  :dunno:

I ate $5200 in deer tags between Montana and Colorado.  Eating my Washington archery deer tag was like loosing a couple quarters in coke machine compared to those two bad boys......OUCH!

I am just glad we wrap our meat so well, two layers of plastic wrap, then one in waxed butcher paper, tape it tight...  I still have steak from three years ago...  :EAT:  The freezer is still looking pretty good...

I heard the out of state limbs are really tasty.if it was a dry limb you could roll it in your tag and have a tag taco,or smoke it..Better to find light in the slow times, next year will be better least we got out.thats what really matters

I seen more deer this year than in the past 5 years. But I still ate tag soup.It was well worth the money spent though.Took the wife out for her first modern firearm season, brought my kids with me on almost all my hunts, seen well over 500 deer, just no big blackies. The biggest I seen was a five point that one side had been busted off.Of course that was through my log truck windshield oct.31. :bash:

Well- I agree - tag soup sucks....  I didn't tag out - didn't go back to AK....  :'(  but I learned alot of things this season for hunting here in WA  :bash: and met some great folks and learned new areas for the future.  Grocery bill will be higher than it has been in ten years, guess I can survive on Sturgeon..... :chuckle: although the supply is very low.... So it must be this 2nd coming season that I get one of those easy to draw OIL tags--right...

Easily my worst year ever, not only conditions and other normal excuses but I had the added hinderence of my overall health and fitness.  All my own fault.  I am in the process of changing that.

I started with a Montana archery antelope appetiser, followed up with a archery elk tag main course and an Entiat archery muledeer dessert. Thankfully I helped my partner pack out his cow in the early season. That will get me thruogh the year.

Can we break the soup down per state? If so I have enough soup to eat for the next 3 winters.

You ever try to figure out how much $ spent per pound of meat brought home? I was in the positive (barely) while in my 20's but now deep into the 30's I figured I am at a minimum (negative -----) $100 per pound but oh well. I figure I will quit using this formula when I turn 40 and sure as hell wont care when I am in my 50's.

Ate my deer tag as I nomally do. Trying to teach the daughter to hunt. And my son and his bud. Don't have much time to go out alone anymore. Next season I will be adding my granddaughter into the mix. Wouldn't have it anyother way!
Didn't go elk hunting this year as I didn't draw the tag and wasn't in the mood to go!

First season and I deep fried my archery deer tag, tempura style.  I didn't even see an adult deer of either sex during hunting hours. The guy who said he'd show me the ropes is a good guy, but he's basically a road hunter- "We just drive from one spot to another until we see something... that's how we do it when I get to hunt with the Yakima tribe."   Help me Jeebus!
Here are the excuses:  I didn't have a good start with areas to hunt (he hasn't hunted western WA in about 19 years and didn't invite me to go east with him); I'm really out of shape so my lungs felt like I'd scrubbed them with a broadhead; the places I went on my own were guess work at best (though I did see lots of tracks and poo in a couple places- just no deer); um, school and work kept me out of the woods; the woods is real thick, too so it was hard to find a spot :) ....  shall I continue?

ate my elk tag as i did not draw a branch tag.....and I hve no time to try and run around looking for spikes with abotu a billion other hunters.......did good on finding deer....found one for my roommate to shoot(his first) then I passed up a small 2x3 whitey.....then I missed a decetn 3x whitey and then I missed a giant 4x whitey with 10-12 long tines!! soo my hunting was good it was just my shooting skills that lacked and this is the first time Ive ever had a problem with missing an animal and I am really stumped......I have dropped an elk at 250 yards but for some reason that whitetail at 75 yards did not die!!!! :bash: oh well I had a good time hunting as I always do! i would have to say as far it goes for worst hunting season by seeing animals would have been my 2007 season btu I was also jsut coming off crutches and had abotu 1 leg with maybe half of the other working ok so hunting hurt like a biatch and I ust wasnt into it as much since I was ins oo much pain........ still havent cooked my tags up though!! whats a good recipe!?!?!

I ate one of my deer tags and both my bears tags as well as my cougar tag.  It was one big meal.  At least I filled one of my tags and my dad filled his tag so we will have venison for a while at least.
