I've always archery hunted the west side and thinking about giving the east side a try. Just wondering what are some of your go to patterns?
I'll most likely be hunting around Winthrop. :dunno:

Deer and elk don't really see color, so anything that breaks up your outline.
I use surplus army pants, and kuiu merino top I like their camo pattern, but frankly I think all the different camo patterns are more for the hunter than the hunted. Maybe a good plaid would do just as well.

I bought rockyboots brand clothing for september. Its rocky silentweeve. I first bought it for my wife when she started hunting. It is so quiet and comfortable and light weight. I was so jealous I bought myself some the next year. I absolutely love it. I literally cant hear my clothing rubbing when I walk or draw my bow. It is way way way less expensive than bigger name brands which is originally why I bought it. I cant afford to buy $150-300 top and another $150-300 on a pant. I got my top and pants for like $75 a piece. You can usually find a promo code online.

Put your money on something better. Like glass or ammo ,gps. I have bought walmart camo pants for years ,and wear a camo orange vest and solid orange shirts. If you are still, deer will walk right up to you.
Evey year I see guys walking out of the woods with deer. Orange vest and blue jeans.

True. But that's gun hunting. Im not sure what the OP hunts with but with my old super cheap $15 camo I had at least 1 deer bust me a year either when trying to get situated to draw or while drawing just because they made so much noise with movement. I love my rocky camo solo quiet.

I've had some pretty awesome moments with Sitka optifade
....elk and deer seem to look rite through it when things get up close and personal
Literally had a bull try to walk through me this year

Kuiu is my go-to at this point. Cheaper than Sitka (no middle man), quieter than most others and weather resistant/proof depending on which piece you purchase. Just my $.02

I'll spend a little more on camo when I'm bow hunting, but not much more. Just something to break up my outline a little. Other than that I don't really see the reason for it. I'd rather invest my money into something lightweight, breathable, moisture wicking, etc.

I have sitka... but not because i care about the pattern itself. I like the materials and quality as well as fit of sitka best. I wish they made more in olive green...

I agree patterns don't matter a whole lot and are more for the hunter, but I would not skimp on quality. I've been wearing the same sitka pants bought 4 years ago and still in great shape. Cheap stuff off cabelas or walmart will last maybe a year, and do so far less comfortably. I hunt a lot and year round, and jeans or work pants will not allow near the movement nor fend the element like quality hunting apparel. If you are looking for effective, high quality camo that is affordable, check out G-Force Outdoors. Not really made for human eyes, but will definitely break you up, and the pattern will grow on you as well. I have their hoodie and it is awesome.
