Title: Any single track/ enduro riders, this is awesome news!
Post by: elkinrutdrivemenuts on June 04, 2015, 10:16:43 AM
Finally one of the big 3 is releasing a 2 stroke woods bike!  Yamaha released the  2016 250x!  I thought this was only going to happen in dream land, but they released what a lot of guys have been waiting for many years!  I was expecting them to release a 450fx after they released the 250fx this year, but they totally shocked everyone by going back to a two stroke!  Finally another option that KTM for a 2 stroke woods bike.  Now I have to convince the wife!

Yeah, that's the only thing I wish they would have done.  But these things are much easier to start when hot than the 4 strokes!  This thing is going to be so light, I cant wait to ride!

I'll keep drinking my orange Kool-Aid for now.

BTW - I'm hitting up the Wattsy school this weekend - you going by chance? Would be cool to have a HuntWa connection as I rip past you (not)!  :chuckle:

Factory street legal and then they have it IMO...

Maybe Yammi will wake up and go back to 2 stroke sleds as they are irrelevant at this point with their heavy pigs.

I was close to drinking the Euro kool aid, Husaberg FE 390, but not anymore!  Might still have to if the wife doesn't sign off on me pre ordering this bike!

No I wont be,  I have never heard of it, what is it?  I'm over in Idaho.

Doubt it, they appeal to a certain few who wanna rip up a chute.  But we can only hope.  I would never own a 4 stroke sled!  Im sick of 4 stoker dirt bikes, so damn expensive to repair!

Does look like it would be fun.  Wish I would have known.  I gotta head to seattle to visit inlaws and could have used this to get out of the house!
My buddy rides a KTM 350 SX-F, loves it.   Im on a 07 YZ 250f that's set up for the woods, but its time for a new bike.

Please report on how the Shane watts school went.  Wish I would have known about that I would have attended for so.

KTMs are hard to beat. Looks like Yamaha wants some of the woods market.  There only 10 years late.  Went from a 250 2-stroke to a ktm 350xc-w. Love the bike, but I agree 2-strokes still have a place in the woods

The school was great - again. I went last year but my bike busted 1/2 way through the first day. The  class is a mix of sponsored guys to newbies to trail & track guys and around 16-18 per class.

Shane does a great job of teaching a class with a ride range of skills and challenging everyone to push their individual comforts. His focus is to teach technical riding skills which allows you to apply them on the trail/track. His teaching method is fun, direct and challenging.

I don't have the benefit of going to other riding schools to compare but I had 5 other friends that went last year two of which came back this year and I'll go again next year.

Ask any other questions you'd like...
