Title: Being Scentsible?
Post by: STRINGSHOOTER on June 10, 2015, 12:41:31 PM
I am a newbie and looking forward to my first hunt this year, primarily black tail. I am soaking up bow hunting wisdom and enjoy all the info available here on the site. A couple questions...
While I would tend to use scent blocker regularly, I have spoken with some who don't. Your method?
Secondly, how does checking trail cams with or without blocker hurt?
And finally I know of someone who takes their dog out to check the trail cams.
Thx in advance for you input!

When i treestand hunt i dont use sent blocker. When i still hunt i do. I wouldnt take my dog to check the camera but it cant be much different than the coyotes roaming the woods. :twocents:

My dogs never go with me where I hunt. I like the area to be as undisturbed as possible. I use scent killer on my shoes and legs when checking cams most of the time. Sometimes I forget to bring it. Just to try and not leave scent trails around my cam sites.

Dont 4get bring somthing with a lid or cap to pee in when ur up in that stand and if u dont have much experience in a stand practice sitting in it and bring a notepad and paper with you to when you think of ideas you can write them down.
