Beautiful fish!
With this 18.5 pound fish there is a potential the world record could be broken from a Washington lake. The world record is 20 pounds, 13 ounces, caught in Lake Michigan 34 years ago.
Below is another pic and snippet from the angler himself:
On May 5, 2015 I was fishing at Bonaparte Lake Resort in Tonasket Washington with my 6" ugly stick and 8lb diameter fire line and hooked into the Washington State record tiger trout from shore. It took me about 15 minutes to land it on shore. I was fishing bacon and eggs, worm and pautzke eggs. I was stunned to see how big this trout really was; it looked as big as a Salmon. We then called fish and game who hooked us up with Ryan Fortier Washington field and wildlife officer and Biologist whom certified our record fish and we are awaiting our certified copy from Olympia Washington. It was our 20th year at the resort and got to share it with all our family and friends who also have been going to the Bonaparte Lake Resort for over 30 years. It’s a once in a life time experience for me. I am an angler from Priest River Idaho.

:yike:  what a beautiful fish

Wow congrats to the angler!

Awesome fish! Congrats to the angler. To me, the mouth on that fish looks like one of those giant Alaskan rainbows that has been caught over and over again. Seems like it hardly has any lip left. :dunno:

That's a hog of a fish!! And to think that he caught it will a 6" rod.... :chuckle:

Wow, nice fish.

Exactly my thoughts, that has to be in a special record class itself. :chuckle:

Real cool!

I hadn't heard of a Tiger Trout in a while and googled it. Sterile hybrid from cross between a male brown trout and female brook trout.

The old lodge there used to be filled with monster fish pics like that. I think they were Big Macs. Glad there are big ones still swimming there. I,think the biggest I ever caught was about 12 pounds on the fly. Congrats to the angler.

Spent last week on the lake at Scout camp with my son and his scout troop. There was a lot of talk to this fish but I saw nothing like it come in. There were certainly some BIG splashes in the lake. The water was crazy warm, I think the waterfront director said Thursday it was 78 degrees at the 0900 lifesaving class :yike:. Pretty sure it was the top part of the water but it was not cold any of the days we were swimming even diving in. I will be adding it to the list of lakes we fish in the late spring though. Cool fish and nice to see it caught by a guy that has been at it a long time even if he was using a 6" rod.

Hopefully he gets a replicate made of it!
