Title: R100
Post by: Rainier10 on June 28, 2015, 12:39:51 PM
Just registered for the R100 coming up.

This is the first time that I am going to be in town for the shoot.

Looks like rangefinders are allowed this year.

What kind of yardages are we going to be shooting? Mostly 20-50 yards?  How many shots over 50?

I have one kid shooting youth and one shooting cub.  Will there be two different stakes for them to shoot from?  What distances will they have to shoot from?

I read last years thread and got a bunch of information from there, sounds like there are a bunch of members that went so hopefully one of you can fill in the blanks for me.

Thanks.

Still not sure about if there are three different pins to shoot from but I did find out that there shouldn't be as long of waits this year with it being marked yardage, not so many lost arrows.  Also heard that most shots are under 60 yards.

Still going to be long waits marked yardage will not make a big difference.

Wow!  I will post after the shoot if I have the same problem.

How long did it take you to get through last year?

Last year wasn't so bad but the year before it took us almost 7 hours to shoot 50 targets.

Wow, I guess I will wait and see how it all goes.  I hope we go quicker than that, gonna be a long day in the blazing heat if that is the case.  Definitely bringing lots of sunscreen and water.

Have you registered yet?  If so pick your cards up Friday evening so you can get an early start.

I did register and asked if I could pick up my stuff Friday.  They said that registration was Rinehart's deal and they were going to get back to me and let me know if that was possible.

Apparently there have been some corporate changes at Rinehart about this shoot and trying to make them all the same format across the country or something.

I am meeting a military buddy for dinner in Seattle and coming back down to the shoot for Sunday.  Would have loved to just camp out but I haven't seen this guy in 20 years and he was coming through town for the 4th.  What can you do?

Are you shooting?  I will look for you on Sunday when I have more time.

Pretty fun shoot, weather was really hot.

Day one took us almost 6 hours to shoot, day two was only 5 hours.

Targets and shooting scenarios were great and challenging.  Ended up shooting just over 900.

Wife and kids had a great time.  One of the guys shooting with us won the free Elite bow at the end so that was a real bonus to an awesome weekend of shooting.

I think we will do it again next year.  Hopefully it won't be quite as hot.
