The wife has given me permission to get a dog, however the wife not being a dog person doesn't want to drop a big chunk of money for a puppy. I am looking for a Lab but I am open to suggestions. If you have one or know where to get one shoot me a pm. Thanks.

Do a search in the hunting dog section. Plenty of threads about good breeders in the state. Good luck and have fun. Puppies are awesome!

My buddies yellow lab just had 14 pups last week, all yellow. He lives on the east side near Othello. Both parents good hunters. Feel free to PM me for more info.

Derailed, after you get a lab puppy I bet your wife will be a dog person. Good luck in your search and please post pics.

Thanks for the replies, I have been reading the threads in the Bird Dog section, there is a ton of info, it seems like a lot of people like you do hunt tests and field trials, I am not looking to compete with the dog. I have had a golden before she was a sweet dog. I had a lab chessie mix once she was a great hunter and very headstrong. I would be open to either.
Curly I hope you are right, She did not like our last two dogs a male black lab and a female golden, they were getting up in their years when we got them from my mom. I am hoping a puppy could change her mind.

Ireland Farms are very close to you and produce very good Labrador puppies. I would have liked to get one from them but they didn't have any chocolates available. Maybe contact them and take the wife to meet some of the pups on the ground to see if it is something you guys are interested in!

Hey duckhunter81, who is your female out of? I had a son of Willie (Jet's sire) and loved him. From what I've heard Jet is a great dog and those should be some nice pups.

She is out of fc afc way-da-go-call wild and a SH female. I have high hopes for this litter. 4f already spoken for pending deposits. Should be on the ground around August 14th. Will make great test dog or hunting companions

Yours are really adorable. I've enjoyed the pics watching them grow and play.

I also have a Drake female that I love. I hope the pups find great homes!
-
Where did you get your drake pup from? Drake was the best chocolate stud when I was looking!

These pups will be ready middle of next month. This is my hunting Buddy and he is in Spokane.

Remember your dogs bones are still growing. No jumping off couches and stuff.
Can damage joints.
When you start training , train first , play after.
Good luck.

The kids like playing with him and when they are "training" I am watching to ensure that we are doing the same thing. I will check out the DVD.

Currently he get lifted up and down off stuff. The kids would carry him around all day if they had their way.
Thanks for the advice.
