I wanted to check in and see if any of you guys scored a multi season deer tag?
I will be bow hunting for elk first part of September in Nevada, but other than that I want to use this tag to its fullest. Interested to see how you guys have approached this multi tag in the past.

I got one. I'm planning west side blacktail archery then Eastern whitetail rifle.

Just incase you didnt know, multi season permit doesnt mean you can harvest multiple deer. Just means you can hunt each season.

I had to pass on the multi-season deer tag, since I spent nearly $300 on a Weyerhaeuser access permit. I'd love to be able to hunt the late archery and muzzleloader seasons, but not this year. It's just $140 too much.

I have one for this year.
Mostly got one because I normally archery hunt, but my two sons have rifle tags and I want to hunt with them.
That was my plan last time I had one. During early archery wait and see if a nice buck presents a good opportunity. Then hunt rifle season and be somewhat selective. Then late archery if tag is still available. Last time I took a doe on December 31. Definitely makes for a nice long season if you take advantage of it.

oh yeah i know. It just doubles my chances at success. My buddy has only archery so if we see one for archery, he'll shoot it. Then he can assist me in rifle season. And due to our storage at home, we're gonna share whatever we catch equally.

Please post video of the catch.

Reminds me of my sister-in-law. She always asks if I caught anything when I go hunting. :)

I got one. I'll be going rifle hunting first and if unsuccessful will try late muzzle Nov 20-30.

I think there are laws against catching deer :o
Wife and I both got MS deer this year :IBCOOL: My favorite tag! Though last time I drew it the tag never made it out of early archery season. Sure helps a guys decision to pass up the small ones a lot easier.

I drew it too.
I was hoping to also draw a second deer to take full advantage of this tag but no such luck.
I've been chasing one single deer in the NE for the last 3+ years so my intention is to start there, then do archery elk (westside) then spend the better part of a few weeks looking for - or waiting for Junior to show up on a trail camera. I have time blocked off in my calendar to chase him on the opener, potentially after early archery elk then once during Nov. I prefer to take him with a bow but I might have a rifle handy. :-)

I drew it 2 years ago and did not buy it. I drew it again last season and purchased it. I purchased it, because I wanted to learn the other weapon types. A buddy on Hunt Wa talked me into shooting his bow. I got addicted to Archery and decided to give it a try. My plan was to only shoot anything that was a shot placement, which I new I could make. I also wanted to hold out for something bigger than I usually get during the modern rifle season. I ended up harvesting the largest deer in my 25 years of deer hunting. Had a blast, huge challenge in wide open country, but I did it.
This year I did NOT get drawn for Multi Season Deer, but I now have the confidence to Archery hunt. I bought a general season Archery tag, and plan on another great year. Great permit to have. I will buy it every year moving forward, assuming I get drawn.

My daughter and I both drew this year. We are both holding out for monster blacktails!

The first year the wife drew was back when they were hard to come by. I think she had four or five points. I believe she passed up seven bucks opening day of archery season. Passed a total of seventeen bucks before making a miraculous shot on her stud blacktail. That deer is still the only mount that has been allowed in the living room of our house. If I'm sleeping when the house burns down I think she saves it first then worries about me :chuckle: If not for the multi tag she'd have just had another set of antlers in the big pile after opening day instead of her trophy of a lifetime.

So the Multi Season tag is good only in "general" deer units correct? Once you tag a deer, you are done correct?
Can you choose white tail, mule, or blacktail??
-
Yes, only good for counter tags unless you drew a special permit in addition to your multi tag. I've had it every year since it was introduced except for two and love it. Simply put, it allows me to hunt a lot more days and offers increased flexibility to work around out-of-state hunts and work.
