Sorry for your family's loss. RIP, Trigger.
-
It is never easy and I jusy went through this myself a couple months back. Hang in there and may Trigger rest easy.
-
I'm sorry man. It's tough losing a good dog. Remember the good times.
-
That is heartbreaking, I am sorry for your loss.
-
I understand what you are going through. I had to put my Lab down on Sunday. 11 and a half years. Along with being my best buddy, she kept our family full by bringing plenty of ducks out of cold winter waters. I feel your loss.
-
Sorry. It hurts like a SOB... :'(
-
Sorry for your loss. I had to do the same thing several years ago with my German shorthair I had all through my youth. :'( :'(
-
Its the harsh part of life..... Death...... But its still hard..... Sorry
-
Been there myself!! Sure makes a grown man cry like a baby..
Remember the good times..
A new puppy was always my cure...

very sorry for what your going through, I had to put my girl down a year and half ago. Still hurts sometimes. The last day with her I poured her a beer and we sat in the front yard and had a drink. Took her in and buried her in our back yard, we will have our time together again. So will you and your pup! Hang in there, and let it out. Sorry for your loss .

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been
especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of
our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and
our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or
maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times
gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very
special, someone who was left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the
distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group,
flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special
friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain
upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting
eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge
together...

Some times doing the right thing really hurts. I'm sure he is at peace . Relish in the memories .....no doubt you gave him a great life.
-
Sorry to hear deerhunter!
I know too how it feels. Put my 110lb yellow lab of 11 years down a couple months ago. Buried him in the Back yard too. Really sad!
Take care!
-
That sucks. One of the hardest things I have ever had to do. The sure become part of the family.
-
very tough, sorry,,,this was from hear a while back
-
Tough. I've only had one dog to be put down at old age. Very hard to do.
I've got three hunting dogs right now that are between 5 months and 2 years. It's going to be a rough time when all three of them get there :'(
No matter how a good dog passes, after time it is easier to remember all the good moments. That worst part about dog ownership is their life expectancy
-
Been there, hated it, too. Sorry Deerhunter.
-
It never gets easier, and I am sympathetic for your loss. I've had the vet put down 2 of my labs, both times in my arms - that ache hurts something fierce. I encourage you to get another, he won't replace Trigger, but life with a dog is better than life without. I have a little dropkick dog who turns 10 Saturday, and I can see the future; hoping for a few more good years.
-
Losing a good dog is as hard as losing any other family member! I'm sorry for your loss! :(
I agree that you should find another dog to enjoy and share your life with! :)
-
Sorry for your loss. :'(

:yeah:
I have had Labs for nearly 40 yrs, letting them go never gets any easier. Howerver, the misery of living without one is is worse than knowing I will have to watch them pass before I am ready. Having watched 7 Labs pass, I have never been ready.
Take a little time to get over the loss, then get another "IF" you have the time to give it the attention it deserves.
