Has anyone run into white king jacks before? I have caught plenty adult white kings in AK but never a jack. The whites in AK were phenomenal eating, how are these? Out of three jacks in the group two were pale fleshed. These were caught in the Entiat area and were very bright with traces of sheen left.

We caught some off of Vancouver Island a few weeks ago. Excellent eating. Nice oily meat.

Most of the Cowlitz jacks I caught this spring were pale fleshed and delicious...especially smoked, and the look better after smoking lol

For years up in AK White King was the locals secret and delight. Last I heard the processors had caught on and were marketing for a higher price, for years fishermen got squat for their whites now I think they are equal to reds or maybe even bringing in a slight premium. Glad to hear these are tasty here as well.

Nearly all Cowlitz springer jacks are white or at least pale.
