I think you can be assured that the attacks on the 2nd amendment will not just stop.
We need to keep supporting the groups that protect our rights.
That means putting our money where our mouth is.
-
I think the bigger problem is the state paying almost 67k for a criminal that got shot by leo or homeowners for breaking the law. geez
-
As longshanks said in Braveheart "can't get them out well tax them out" (replaced with my own wording but is what came to mind when I read that article.
-
Abit like raising license tabs to pay for drunk drivers, or maybe spoon tax's to pay for fat @ss's.

:chuckle: What a joke. Seattle leading the way in stupidity once again! Great strides for man kind.... great strides
-
It's moving forward, unfortunately, and the per-round tax is $0.05!

A great day in paradise here in Washington State once again.. :bash:
I'm going to ride my quad today, right out my backdoor....

another idiot idea from the liberal tree huggers that live in the city of seattle. glad i dont live up north any more moved back down to sw washington where im from. im a seahawk since i was a kid but keep in mind the owner of this team has the same logic and ideas as these people. so i will never step foot in that staduim. just something to be aware of for you people that pay money to see those games and are gun owners. :bash:
-
Maybe they should put a tax of $25. per seat in the stadium per game.We can call it the Auto collision, road maintenance, environmental protection act.We can use the money from the team owner to counter some of the cost for the accident victims, clean air education, and road repairs.we can also add on more leo to help with clearing the traffic from the traffic to and from the games.
-
Sad thing is, I went to grade school with Paul Allen. No kidding. I'm happy we weren't ever friends....I think he used to get teased and beat up alot.. now him and his liberal mayor are getting even with us....well, most everybody..
-
Yep, more b.s. by the anti's. It's a short drive to Oregon and they will get all my money for ammo.
I haven't read the article but am I wrong to assume it will also apply to ammo bought online that gets shipped here?

Right now it's just a city of Seattle thing. However, give it time and the good idea fairy will introduce something similar to the legislature.
-
They would have to change both Constitutions to make it state wide wouldn't they?
-
Same people who cry that a $13 fee for a driver's license burdens people trying to exercise their right to vote.
I'm sure the ACLU will be all over this one, don't worry.
-
Just saw that the Seattle City council approved this. Gun rights groups are preparing to file lawsuits.

As long as there are, Liberals/Progressives/Communists and Democrats, THERE will be ATTACKS on the Constitution both Federal and State by these low life's!
Their EMOTIONAL fixes are NEVER satisfied, just like the drug junkies!! Oh wait, its legal in some fashion already!! :o
Pot stores are more important then gun stores, NOW you now the REAL reason behind the move :chuckle:
-
Really
I have said it before. I go out of my way not to do business with Seattle or companies that operate there.

They will. These idiots just keep throwing wet noodles on the wall and hope they stick. I'm a firm believer that everytime we get these moronic laws enacted, 2nd admendment groups need to sue and establish more rulings that protect our rights.

Another "feel good" law that everyone knows will have no effect. Similar to the law they passed a couple of years ago banning guns in public parks (did anyone really believe that gang bangers were going to see a sign that said no guns allowed and leave their guns in the car?) Obviously the only people effected are those businesses in Seattle dealing in guns and ammo who will see all of their customers making the short drive to Everett or Federal Way to make their purchases. Seattle is what it is. The cities voters want this type of law and the city council is only too willing too oblige-I don't think anyone with an IQ out of double digits thinks this will really accomplish anything. I guess they'll sleep better at night thinking "by golly, we passed a law, that'll take care of the problem".

Yes! And as a result of folks making their firearm/ammo purchases in other cities Seattle will not collect the gun tax OR the municipal portion of sales tax which I believe is 2.6%. This is so utterly stupid - they hurt local businesses, infringe on the rights of law biding citizens and cant find a way to get paid for it.
-
Anybody else as fed up with Seattles BS legislation, and just hope at this point that EVERYTHING their liberal minds can come up with passes, so the entire city goes the way of Detroit? Let them create their utopia so libs can live their dream.
It's happening anyway just at a slower pace, let's just get it over with.
-
I would love to see socialist Seattle implode. Unfortunately there's just to much money there for it to happen.

You're actually upset that the business hub of the whole state is doing too well?
This new tax is annoying. But I buy my ammo online anyway and I'll just have to buy my guns in Bellevue I guess. Not really a life changing event...
-
You can have all three counties mags!
-
This has been scrolling across CNN on the bottom all day. Only high point is NRA and NAGR is coming out against it.
But ya this is certain to pass and anyone in seattle will have to dig a bit deeper to pay this crap.
Unless you happen to drive outside the city then your good I guess. But still. :bash:

Problem is it starts there, but usually never stays there.

Curious to hear your opinion on this mags, do you think it will have any effect on gun violence?

Of course not. It's a cash grab.
-
But where is that cash going to go? Buy backs? Might even get it back as a deposit on return.

Another way to go after our 2A rights, but nothing towards the criminals who have all the rights..
.....and don't start on they don't. They do, you have to be PC, you can't bash their heads in with batons, you have to render a cop killer assistance, total bullcrapinsky..
-
all this news is depressing.

Politicians in general are stupid, and the ones in Seattle are 10 fold. This is not a static issue so it solves nothing. What i want to know is who in thier right mind would put thier business in Seatown anymore?
-
Maybe this gun/bullet tax can help pay for some more much needed rainbow and African flag cross walks.....Next time I travel and people ask me where I am from, I used to say Seattle for convenience sake......Too embarrassing to claim that anymore.
-
It would be better to charge the five cent ammo tax on each murder instead.
Then again, that might not work as a deterrent either.
Maybe something higher like ten cents per murder?
It's a joke. Lay off. :chuckle:
-
SAF is on top of this. It will be repealed imo under state preemption. One of the many reasons i support SAF financially.

Classic example of this country going to hell!
-
Yep..Seems to be official ...Wonder if anyone will ever have balls to defend their rights :dunno: These people just never stop coming up with ways to collect money and the only thing that peeeeeses me off is it is not ever used for what they say they are using it for ...

The article in Forbes has a few notes about this one citing a councilman as saying:
"A gun violence tax will give us revenue to provide broad-based benefits through research and prevention programs."
This is cute. It's poverty. Address poverty. Does taxing the poor help the poor? Hmm.
It also says that something like this was done in Cook County, Illinois (Chicago).
No apparent effect. Violent crimes continued to increase there at the same rate.
Poverty.
Things that cause low income situations.
Like taxes.
Things that limit the number of employees an employer can hire.
Like inequitable divorce outcomes.
And of course a sense of entitlement.
