Title: Is my Bowtech RPM 360 at IBO spec?
Post by: gutsnthegrass on August 17, 2015, 08:16:40 AM
I was finally able to get out and shoot my new bow.  IBO is rated at 360fps, I know this is at 70lbs, 30" draw and 350gr arrows.  My setup is 70lb, 29" draw and 420gr arrows.  I shot my bow through the crono and was getting 310fps.  I think I have seen a calculation out there to figure out what my specs would reference to if I was at IBO specs.  I was able to figure out that I am getting 89lbs of KE wich I am very happy with and my FOC is only at 10%.  I read that 10% is on the low side, should I be concerned with this at all.

Thanks

Sounds about right to me. My calculation puts you about 6fps short, with peep and dloop. Most RPM's didnt hit thier IBO anyways, they are more of a 350 IBO bow. You're still getting a ton of speed out of it though. With that draw length and speed with those arrows you have way more than enough to easily take anything in North America.

Rest is a Ripcord, might switch to a QAD though.

Depends on the amount of weight on your string. Using an online calculator and guessing 20gr on the string, it says 320fps for your setup.
